LaLaport BBCC to be a licensed KL-SG express bus hub in February
Commuting between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore is expected to be easier and safer in the near future. The Ministry of Transport has designated shopping malls in the Klang Valley as public transport hubs, with KL-Singapore express buses in particular affected by the change.
The first transport hub, LaLaport BBCC, will begin operations from February 2026 onwards.
Four official public transportation hubs in malls
According to a report by The Edge on 21st January, express bus operators have been boarding and unboarding passengers at easily accessible, but unauthorised, locations in KL. This has caused traffic congestion in areas like Corus Hotel and Berjaya Times Square, where roadside disembarkation for passengers is common.

To ensure safer pick-up and drop-off points for passengers, the Land Public Transport Agency and Road Transport Department have picked three shopping malls in the Klang Valley as official public transport hubs: LaLaport BBCC, which is expected to receive a license and kick off in February, and also IOI City Mall in Putrajaya and 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya.
Previously, LaLaport and 1 Utama have been operating informally as transport hubs.
IOI City Mall and 1 Utama Shopping Centre are still undergoing checks, with operating licenses issued only when facilities have been upgraded and safety standards are met. Likewise, Sunway Pyramid in Subang Jaya is expected to join the list, but no official launch has been announced yet as the location is still under evaluation.
Express bus operators have been given a three-month notice to relocate their operations to an authorised location that’s fully operational. They’ll have multiple licensed locations to drop off passengers, including Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, Terminal Bersepadu Gombak, and the malls mentioned above.

The transport hub at LaLaport BBCC features six departure bays and five arrival bays. With the mall’s proximity to the Hang Tuah Monorail station, passengers will now have interchange access with LRT services while opting for travel by bus, too.

Additionally, LaLaport BBCC’s transportation hub is furnished with supplementary services such as integrated ticketing systems, as well as Bus On Demand services that allow for easy access to the key areas from the mall, such as Pudu, Bukit Bintang, Imbi, and Mont Kiara.
Malls licensed as transport hubs for KL-Singapore express buses
As safety is always a priority with travel, the designated hub for buses will hopefully be a peace of mind for bus passengers who can disembark and be near to a mall, especially those who often travel between KL and Singapore by public transport.
