Lotteria to open first Malaysia store in December 2025
If you’ve been to South Korea, chances are you’ve bumped into a Lotteria before. And if you’ve felt the urge to eat as the locals do, chances are even higher that you’ve popped into an outlet before.
Best known for its array of Korean-style burgers, the South Korean burger chain is making its way to Malaysia. On 6th December 2025, their first-ever outlet is set to open at The Curve shopping mall in Petaling Jaya, with 30 outlets planned over the next five years.
What is Lotteria?
Lotteria was founded by Korean entrepreneur Shin Kyuk-Ho in Tokyo, Japan, in 1972. He was also the founder and first chairman of the Lotte Group. The brand established itself in Seoul, South Korea, in 1979, often regarded as the first fast food restaurant in the country.

Today, Lotteria has become a familiar face in South Korea, popular for its array of burgers and localised menu at over 1,000 outlets. You can now find more than 300 Lotteria outlets scattered across Asia, too, with many concentrated in Vietnam and Japan, and others located in Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
First outlet opening in Malaysia in 2025
The forthcoming Malaysian foray is a partnership between Korea’s Lotte GRS and Malaysia’s Serai Group, as reported by Korea Times. They’ve committed to opening 30 outlets in the next half-decade in Malaysia. The inaugural Malaysian Lotteria store is on track for a pre-2026 opening, with an opening date finally confirmed for the store: 6th December.

What to expect at Lotteria?
Lotteria is known for its eclectic menu. Their selection proudly features timeless classics such as burgers and chicken sandwiches, but with a distinctly Korean twist – think Bulgogi and Shrimp burgers, which will be available in Malaysia and priced from RM17.90 each.

A combo set comprising a burger, drink, and fries is expected to be priced from RM15.90, with à la carte burgers from RM8.90.
The cheapest item on the menu is the Chicken Burger, at RM15.90 for a medium-sized set, while the priciest are burgers with double the shrimp and bulgogi portions, at RM29.90 for a medium-sized combo meal.
Korea’s Lotteria burger chain is opening in Malaysia
With 30 outlets planned for the next five years in Malaysia, we can expect to see more Lotteria outlets in our neighbourhoods, beyond their debut store at The Curve.
As part of its opening in Malaysia, the burger joint is giving away free postcard packs of the K-pop group and Loterria ambassador TOMORROW X TOGETHER, with every order of a Double Shrimp Burger Combo. This is on a while-stocks-last basis, so you’ll want to head over to the store quickly to get your hands on it.
