My Hero Academia-themed cafe & merch in KL

The world of rising superheroes and cool quirks from My Hero Academia has been enthralling otakus, even here in Malaysia. If you’ve been keeping up with the hit Japanese series and have an eye out for an event that’s all things MHA – what with the slew of anime pop-ups happening in KL recently – we have just the news for you.

There’s a My Hero Academia collaboration cafe that runs from 10th May to 6th July 2025 in KL. Here’s what we know about it.

What is the My Hero Academia collaboration cafe at Doko Koko?

The Japanese heroic saga has joined forces with Doko Koko, an anime-themed cafe at KL’s LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC). The cafe previously collaborated with the viral simulator Chinese mobile game, Love And Deepspace, and popular novel-turned-donghua Heaven’s Official Blessing, much to the delight of local fans.

The latest collaboration with My Hero Academia will run from 10th May until 6th July, with two parts to the event: a cafe with themed decor and menu, and a merch shop. No admission fee is required to enter the cafe to gawk at the on-brand “plus ultra” ambience, but fans will want to order a meal here to plop down at a table to take snaps of the food and dine among fellow MHA fans.

At the themed cafe, you’ll find My Hero Academia character and ability-inspired mains, desserts, and drinks to order and enjoy amid decor that captures the best of the iconic U.A. High School.
