Notes By YGM: Malaysia’s First Official K-Pop Album Cafe In KL, With IG-Worthy Lounge Areas & Album Display

Notes By YGM K-pop album cafe inside Dadi Cinema

Attention to all K-pop fans – the era of buying your favourite idols’ albums online and waiting for the Pos Laju abang to arrive is finally over. You can now purchase official K-pop albums and uncover your photocard pulls right away at Notes by YGM

We’re referring to Malaysia’s first ever K-pop album cafe, which recently opened its doors on 17th October 2023 inside Dadi Cinema at Pavilion Bukit Bintang, KL. We recently paid the store a visit so you know what to expect while there:

Official K-pop albums & exclusive photocards

Malaysian K-poppers’ new playground, Notes By YGM, combines two concepts: an album lounge and a cafe.

Notes By YGM - lounge

At the lounge area, there’s a broad collection of official albums by various K-pop groups and solo artists neatly arranged on neon-lit shelves.

We don’t know which group you stan or who your bias is – but we did the legwork for you and spotted albums by popular groups such as BTS, NCT, Seventeen, Stray Kids, IVE, and RIIZE, as well as debut solo albums from the likes of Blackpink’s Jisoo and Got7’s Jackson Wang – the list goes on.

It’s safe to say you’ll find albums by your favourite K-pop act here.

Other than full albums, you can expect to find single, mini, and studio albums, as well as photobook and repackaged versions. For fans who wish to see their idols rise to the top of Korea’s music charts, you’ll be glad to know that each purchased album will contribute to the artists’ first-week Hanteo sales.

The store periodically rolls out special deals and giveaways to surprise fans, such as a lucky draw to win free albums or getting exclusive photocards with the purchase of certain albums.

Aesthetic interior to relax & vibe with K-pop hits

The interior is super aesthetic and colourful – imagine someone spilling buckets of pastel-coloured paint over its walls and floors, tastefully of course. That being said, don’t hesitate to roam around the area while snapping multiple pictures during your visit.

Each corner is also furnished with comfy couches, bean bags, high tables and chairs for you to sit and chill while vibing with the K-pop hits playing on the speakers.

As this place is still in its soft-opening stage, its Korean-style cafe is currently a work in progress. But the wait won’t be long as the cafe is scheduled to open by the end of 2023, right next to the lounge.

Exclusive photocards and new merch items will also make their way to the shelves, including concert merch and official lightsticks.

When it comes to curating a space that oozes the dynamic and popping ethos of K-pop culture, Notes By YGM certainly understands the assignment. We know K-pop fans will adore this album cafe, but even if you don’t have a bias, this place is totally worth checking out.

The store can be hard to locate – but here’s a tip. To get there, head up the escalator when you get to Dadi Cinema, take a left turn, and you’ll spot the shop’s bright neon sign at the far corner.
