Pokémon Center pop-up in Malaysia
There’s no need to look to Japan or Singapore for Pokémon goodies. You can now shop ’em all at the Pokémon Center pop-up in Malaysia, which carries plushies, companion keychains, lifestyle goods, and other collectables featuring Pokémon across all generations.
When & where is the Pokémon Center in Malaysia?
It may not be permanent, but the Pokémon Center pop-up store runs for a decent three months in Malaysia, from 12th September to 31st December 2026. The pop-up is at the newly opened Ombak KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, on the mall’s Level 3 next to a Nintendo pop-up that’s around for the same period.
Do I need to register for entry?
From 12th to 14th September, the Pokémon Center opens under a special entry system to help manage eager Pokéfans who plan to show up early. Under this entry guideline, shoppers can begin queueing at 6am, with same-day entry tickets distributed from 8am onwards.
After this period, shoppers will no longer need entry tickets – though crowds and queues are still expected, given how Pokémon items have been flying off the shelves.
What to expect at the Pokémon Center in Malaysia
Fair warning – your wallet may or may not weep after you’re done shopping at Malaysia’s Pokémon Center. It’s stocked with all sorts of Pokémon items that feature crowd-favourite Pokémon, including Pikachu and various starter Pokémon spanning Generations 1 through 9.
A trip to a Pokémon Center isn’t complete without leaving with at least one plush toy. The Malaysian pop-up store has a plethora of them in stock on its shelves.
An item that everyone has been eyeing is the Malaysian-exclusive Turquoise Pikachu (RM56) plush keychain, a Pikachu variant with blue fluffy hair that was released to celebrate the PokéXciting! activities in Malaysia. Other countries have their own variation, with different hair colours.
There’s also the must-get 30th Anniversary Pikachu (RM62) plush keychain, which celebrates Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary with the golden-hued Pikachu donning a bowtie and clutching a Poké Ball.
It’s pretty much plushie galore at the pop-up store. Other popular Pokémon also have their own plushie versions in various sizes, from small to life-sized. These plushies are priced between RM44 and RM244, depending on their size.
OG Pokémon fans will want the life-sized chonky Pikachu (RM300) plush to hug at home.
For those looking to show off their favourite Pokémon starter, the pop-up has a shelf packed with Pokémon starter plush keychains, priced at RM51 each.
If you want to spend your hard-earned grown-up cash on practical daily-use items, there are various items like figurine sets (RM79.90/each) and a Pokémon Crane Game (RM360) to add to your desk, as well as Finizen Socks (RM18) and plush badges (RM33).
Pokémon card traders are not left out of the fun. The pop-up store will stock up on trading card games (TCG) from 15th September onwards.
