Ombak KLCC Is A New Mall Opening In KL In 2026 With An Art Gallery, Rooftop Garden & Stargazing Plaza

Ombak KLCC mall in Kuala Lumpur

Before you go, “Another mall???”, hear us out.

The upcoming Ombak KLCC is shaping up to be something a little different. The new mall in Kuala Lumpur, located just a stone’s throw from the Petronas Twin Towers and well-established Suria KLCC, is set to be more like a cultural space. It features an art gallery as its main tenant, as well as public spaces such as an outdoor plaza and rooftop garden.

In case you haven’t heard, the highly anticipated Nintendo and Pokémon Center pop-ups are set to open in the mall, too.

With a facade and its name inspired by the flowing form of a wave, Ombak KLCC is a stylish new lifestyle and retail development located within the KLCC precinct. If you’re wondering just how accessible it is, it is a 10-minute walk from the Petronas Twin Towers and a shorter 2-minute walk from Persiaran KLCC station on the Putrajaya MRT line.

There are covered links between the new mall, KLCC Park, and Suria KLCC, too.

Developed by KLCC Property Holdings, the same group behind Suria KLCC, the mall is designed to complement rather than compete with its iconic neighbour with its mix of tenants.

Unlike traditional malls that focus on just shopping, Ombak KLCC will feel a little different.

There’s a strong emphasis on art and culture, with 18,600sqm of space dedicated to Galeri Petronas, which will move to the new mall from Suria KLCC, as well as cultural programmes.

While we love our air-conditioned window shopping, the 3,501sqm rooftop garden at Ombak KLCC will be perfect for evening strolls with an unobstructed view of the Petronas Twin Towers. The Stargazing Plaza on the ground floor will be another spot for leisurely activities, boasting 10,000sqft of open-air space next to KLCC Park that’s reserved for future pop-ups and performances.

The plaza is also wrapped with jogging paths that connect with the existing track at KLCC Park.

What to expect at the mall?

While the arts and public spaces already feel huge, the mall features seven levels in an oval-shaped layout that has a mix of retail, eateries, and gallery spaces. No tenants have been announced for the mall yet, but there are approximately 120 retail spaces available.

Tentative plans for the mall include a ground floor that is anchored by a huge gallery area. The first floor is expected to house a department store, while the second floor will have a focus on eateries. The third floor has a mix of gallery space and retail, while the fourth and fifth floors are planned to house a food hall concept and premium dining experiences, respectively.

As for parking, the big question on most minds, the mall features four levels of basement parking with 450 parking bays.

When does Ombak KLCC open to the public?

Ombak KLCC had an expected opening date of October 2025, but as of June 2026, an official opening date has not yet been announced.

Nevertheless, two pop-ups for Nintendo and Pokémon Center are set to open in the mall from 12th September to 31st December, so eager shoppers can look forward to an opening date around these dates.
