Sepi Studio: Free Art Therapy Initiative For Malaysian Youths With Clay Sculpting, Yoga Therapy & More

Sepi Studio in KL

Mental health isn’t always the easiest topic to bring up, especially in a culture where “just be strong” is often the go-to advice. But what if healing didn’t have to start with words? At Sepi Studio, art becomes the outlet. It’s not therapy with a clipboard. It’s therapy with a canvas, a bit of clay, or a good stretch. Pick what speaks to you, the space is yours to just be.

What the initiative aims to do

Sepi Studio is an art therapy studio by Nyawa, a youth-led non-profit organisation. Hosted at Sekeping Retreats in Bangsar, every session explores different art forms as a means of mental health therapy through creativity. The initiative aims to guide youths to reconnect with themselves, providing fully sponsored workshops with a majority reserved for youth from marginalised communities.

Sepi embraces both the art and science of mental wellness with workshops that invite you to slow down and tune in. Whether it’s yoga, mandala art, coffee painting paired with mindful breathing, or simply drawing with both hands, each activity is designed to help you sit with yourself and soothe the inner noise, all while honouring the beautiful complexity of being human.

At Sepi, healing comes in the form of quiet creation with no words needed. Through art therapy, you’ll find a gentle path to freedom and peace, one brushstroke at a time. Everything’s taken care of too, from all the materials you’ll need to light snacks and drinks to keep you cosy throughout the session.
