Catch Seventeen’s Mingyu live in Malaysia
Malaysia may not be on the list for K-pop group Seventeen’s RIGHT HERE World Tour in 2025, but there’s something else to look forward to this July. The group’s rapper and singer, Mingyu, is expected to make a live appearance in Malaysia.
This exciting opportunity comes courtesy of an event spearheaded by Snickers Asia – the idol is the first-ever Korean ambassador for the brand. Here’s everything we know so far about his visit.
Pop-up event from 3rd to 6th July
Seventeen fans, or Carat, in Malaysia will remember the wild mind games around Mingyu’s visit to Malaysia. Two months ago, there were hints of him coming to Malaysia for a Snickers event, but no official confirmation from the chocolate bar brand itself.

This included a contest hosted by Snickers Philippines, where five winners would win a paid trip for two to the SNICKERS with MINGYU event in Malaysia. Back in May, Snickers Malaysia also ran a social contest for fans to snap photos with SNICKERS and MINGYU displays at grocery stores, offering a fast pass to the Snickers pop-up event as a prize.
Mingyu has also made an appearance in Korea for a Snickers pop-up event there.
Fast forward to 29th June 2025, and Snickers Malaysia announced on both their Facebook and Instagram that “the wait is over” and that fans can “catch MINGYU live” at Sunway Pyramid on 5th July. His special appearance will be part of the Snickers pop-up event, which is slated to run from the 3rd to the 6th of July.
The event will be located at the mall’s Blue Concourse on LG2, opening from 10am-10pm daily.

However, the time of Mingyu’s appearance on Saturday has not been announced. Fans have also been speculating on whether the K-pop idol will actually be coming to Malaysia for the event, or just making a remote live appearance via video call.

After buying and munching down on Snickers bars to get postcards and join contests, the pop-up event centred around the collab between Snickers and Mingyu – and a possible live appearance from Mingyu himself – sounds like a real sweet treat for fans. So, mark your calendars for 5th July.
