9 Tiramisu Spots In KL & Selangor That’ll Steal Your Heart With Dreamy Layers & Boozy Kicks

Best tiramisu in KL & Selangor

Tiramisu is the kind of item that warrants an “Oooh!” when one sees it on the menu – as much as it is an ubiquitous dessert in Italy, it is coveted as a dinner’s afters that actually makes one feel oddly gratified when the meal is finished. It’s simply a must-order.

That said, not all tiramisu is equal. A great tiramisu is light yet intense, simple yet incredibly moreish, its layers distinct and its flavour alchemy sublime, and better yet, with a touch of booze.

If you’re itching to taste some, the good news is that Malaysia isn’t starved of tiramisu perfection. Here are 9 tiramisu places in KL & Selangor that make their rendition of the Italian classic so divine, a spoon fight will be inevitable.

1. Rosas KL

An excellent tiramisu need not be birthed from the fancy-schmancy kitchens of a high-end restaurant. Most times, it is lovingly churned in the quaint space of a home baker, and that’s exactly what Rosas KL’s tiramisu creations are – they taste like they are worth as much as those at any upscale eateries.

The Classic Tiramisu (RM18) a standout on its own, but there are a couple other renditions worth trying as well – the Matcha Tiramisu (RM18) is subtly infused with Japanese green tea, the Pistachio Tiramisu (RM22) is nutty and rich, and the Black Forest Tiramisu (RM22) is bold and alluringly tempting.

Opening hours: Tue–Thu 12pm-6pm | Fri 12pm-3pm (Closed on Mondays, Saturdays & Sundays)

2. Table & Apron

Table & Apron’s slab of tiramisu (RM27) is thoughtfully constructed to stunning effect – a clearly defined inch of luscious mascarpone is ethereally silky and met with the sponge cake layer that’s moist with house coffee and healthy hits of kahlua and spiced rum, the whole thing generously cocoa powder-topped. It’s delicious, somewhat sensual, and will definitely be wiped out in seconds.

Address: 23, Jalan SS 20/11, Damansara Kim, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Opening hours: Tue–Thu 5.30pm-10.30pm | Fri–Sun 11.30am-3pm & 5.30pm-10.30pm (Closed on Mondays)

The vibey enclaves of the Monét cafe brand in KL will draw you in for an excellent cup of joe, and make you linger for the unforgettable tiramisu.

Sold in tubs of RM21 each, the brand’s house tiramisu is a layered triumph of whipped cream cheese, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and a shower of cocoa – the components aren’t exactly traditional, but they come together to create an extraordinary indulgence, nonetheless. There’s also a matcha-flavoured version, if you prefer a lighter form of caffeine.

4. Alta Pizza

Yes, we love Alta Pizza for its wood-fired crust pizzas, but the tiramisu at this buzzy restaurant means we never leave without getting dessert. Served in a dainty silver goblet, the expected elegance in its visuals doesn’t scrimp on its flavours – you’d think you were getting the familiar classic palates before the bright tang of orange liquor woven through the mascarpone hits you.

For RM24 per serving, the restaurant’s rendition is unexpected, but definitely the kind that you’ll obsess over.

Address: 38, Jalan Kemuja, Bangsar, 59000 Kuala Lumpur
Opening hours: Tue–Sun 12pm-11pm (Closed on Mondays)

Bel Pasto Italian Restaurant draws heavily from classic Italian fare in a very hearty way. And their tiramisu delivers as such.

These come in cake slices at an absurdly affordable price of RM12 for a huge hunk, and are perfectly proportional in their structure, cream ratio, caffeine presence, and overall sweetness. As they are decadent, we suggest sharing if you’re full but don’t want to miss out.

Address: 3-23A, Jalan Desa 2/2, Desa Aman Puri, 52100 Kuala Lumpur
Opening hours: Wed–Mon 11am-2.30pm & 6pm-9.30pm (Closed on Mondays)

Think tiramisu with a whisper of Kyoto – OGA Tea Dining puts their supply of tea leaves to good use by translating those flavours into a classic Italian dessert. Minimalist, light, and simple, their tiramisu offerings match the ambience – there’s the signature Genmaicha Tiramisu (RM22) with a nutty and roasted edge, the Getsusui Matcha Tiramisu (RM25) with the earthy bitterness folded in soft cream, and the Classic Tiramisu (RM18) for the purists.

7. Toothless Coffee

The sleek little spot of Toothless Coffee in Petaling Jaya will impress you with one of the most unique dining experiences in the city, that is, coffee omakase, where you step in and leave it in the hands of the barista to craft concoctions that are entirely based on your preferences. Hence, there’s no menu, and no decisions to be made – but make sure you request a generous tin of the cafe’s tiramisu.

Airy cream is the star of the show here, and your fork will have to glide through a thick layer of this not-too-sweet, cocoa powder-speckled stuff before reaching the softened sponge fingers infused with espresso, of course. The combination of innovative caffeine drinks and the lush tiramisu? Absolute magic.

Cream & Krim will surprise you in every amazing way possible. A roadside warung that makes homemade pasta dishes like poetry? Yes. As well as a dreamy tiramisu that tastes like it came from a tiny trattoria in Rome? We’re sold.

The eatery’s tiramisu isn’t always on the menu, but when they are, you know what to do. With a generously-dusted cocoa topping that’s bitter enough to balance out the sweetness of the cloud-like mascarpone, along with ladyfingers that are present, not soggy, a scoop is familiar but transporting.

Address: Jalan Klinik, Kampung Bukit Naga, 40460 Shah Alam, Selangor
Opening hours: Tue–Sun 12pm-4pm (Closed on Mondays)

If a tiramisu is still good when your tummy is stuffed to its brim with mains, then you know that the tiramisu is good good. That’s how Grind & Ground’s classic tiramisu (RM24) is – it’s a hulking size, but you may not want to share.

The Italian dessert is cream-forward, but it’s got a good amount of bitter cocoa blanketing its top, as well as a good dose of espresso and rum-doused ladyfinger bottom to combat the thick dairy.

Address: Ativo Suites, P-2-3A & P-2-5, Level 2, Ativo Suites Jalan PJU 9/1. Damansara Avenue, Bandar Sri Damansara, 52200 Kuala Lumpur
