UPtown Eats in Petaling Jaya
If you’re hunting for a hearty meal that won’t put a dent in your wallet in one of Petaling Jaya’s pricier pockets, UPtown Eats deserves a spot on your lunch rotation.
This long-running food court in Damansara Jaya – or locally known as Uptown Damansara – reopened last year after a major renovation, swapping its old exposed setup for a fully sheltered space and maintaining stalls that made it a lunchtime staple among office workers in the area.

Before its renovation, UPtown Eats was a typical classic open-air food court with bulky, cafeteria-like tables under a patchwork of umbrellas. If it rained heavily, be prepared to have a side of rain mid-meal.
After renovation.
Since its renovation in November 2025, the food court near The Starling Mall has been rebuilt with full overhead shelter, so you can sit through lunch without racing the clouds or squinting into the afternoon sun. The food court now houses over 20 vendors and seats up to 250 people.
The food court typically gets crowded around 12pm as office workers from surrounding corporate towers crowd the place for affordable meals, so be prepared to fight for a place to sit or opt for takeaway.
Some vendors operate until night time, so you can still come here for dinner after work. Do note that the food vendors have different operating hours, with some closing on Sunday, and others closing on other days.
What are the food options at UPTown Eats?
Longtime regulars of UPTown Eats, prior to its renovation, can rest assured that most of its previous tenants are still there. They include Steven Western Corner, Yazid Steak, and D’ Thai Eats, which are three of the food court’s most-ordered-from stalls.
Besides the crowd favourites, you’ll find stalls selling other Malaysian staples such as Yong Tau Foo, Nasi Campur, and Chicken Rice, with these and the rest of the usual food court lineup all serving meals at a reasonable price. You and your wallet won’t get tired of eating the same meal every day.
For an affluent neighbourhood like Damansara Uptown, an average meal in the area can easily cost over RM25, but you can find hearty dishes at RM15 to RM20 in UPtown Eats.
A particular highlight is Yazid Steak & Western Food. The stall has a pick-and-mix situation, where you just grab a plate and take from a variety of dishes, including spaghetti, mac and cheese, and buttered vegetables. As for meats, they have steak and chicken chops.
If you’re not feeling the pick-and-mix plate, you can order a sizzling plate that comes with either lamb or beef drenched in either black pepper, mushroom, garlic, or barbecue sauce with a side of fries and baked beans, ranging between RM28-RM30.
There’s also Ah Keong Yong Tau Foo, another long-time favourite among office workers in the area. It operates every day, except Sundays, with a short break: 12pm to 3pm and 5pm to 11pm. With a variety of items including tofu, vegetables, and fish balls ranging from RM1 to RM2.80 per piece, you can dress your meal up in curry sauce, sweet chilli sauce, or sweet soya sauce.

Usually, renovations bring about a ton of changes, especially for a food court that’s decades old. But UPtown Eats has kept its regular vendors, with a revamped seating area that allows customers to eat comfortably and at an affordable price.
