How To Register For COVID-19 Vaccination Through MySejahtera

Vaccination rollout in Malaysia officially started back in 1st March 2021, and many of us have registered for the COVID-19 vaccine to chup our spots in the queue for them. But in our excitement to stay safe against the virus, many have yet to complete the registration process.

According to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, over 1.4 million Malaysians didn’t complete their vaccination registrations through the MySejahtera app. While they did, in fact, register to get the vaccine, they didn’t completely fill up the evaluation forms and addresses – both of which are necessary to secure an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Over 5 million Malaysians have already signed up for the vaccine through MySejahtera, while another 44,000 and counting have registered online and at call centres, as reported by Bernama.

But if you were one of the eager ones who registered with MySejahtera when registrations were made public to all Malaysians, you’ll want to take note, as 1,398,494 Malaysians are said to not have completed their registration application through the app, as reported by Malay Mail.

According to Khairy Jamaluddin, our Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, this is because applicants didn’t fill up their evaluation forms and failed to gave an address during the vaccination registration process. Both of these are important steps in the vaccination registration process, as the first lets you know when you’ll secure an appointment – as the vaccination roll-out is carried out in stages – and the latter will determine where you’ll receive the jab at the nearest Vaccine Dispensing Centre (PPV).

As many have been worried that addresses on their Identity Cards do not reflect where they currently stay, having to input your address in the registration process lets you remedy this problem easily. If you’re not sure if you’ve completed the registration properly, fret not, as those who didn’t fulfil all the steps will be receiving an SMS telling you if you’re one of the 1.4 million, starting 15th March.

Here’s how to register for vaccination on MySejahtera

There are currently 3 ways you can register for your vaccine from your couch – through the MySejahtera app or at Jawatankuasa Khas Jaminan Akses Bekalan Vaksin Covid-19 (JKJAV) here, or calling up a hotline number (1800-888-828). You can also opt to register at a private health clinic or at an outreach centre.

If you chose to sign up with the MySejahtera app, you’ll want to make sure you’ve completed your registration to qualify for the vaccine. This means filling up an assessment form after clicking on a “COVID-19 Vaccination” tab on the app and your name in the options that follow. It comes with 3 quick questions:

Are you interested to take the COVID-19 vaccine?
Do you have any comorbidities (two or more diseases or medical conditions)?
Are you registered with the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia as a Disable Person (OKU)?

Before you hit the submit button, you’ll want to scroll down to see the 4th question – “Where is your current place of residence?” – which you’ll have to fill up with your current address so you receive your jab at the nearest PPV location.

If your application is completed properly, you’ll be directed to a page with your name and a list of 8 steps in the vaccination registration process.

1.4 million to complete their vaccination registrations

Vaccinations for COVID-19 may not be the ultimate guarantee to the pandemic’s end, but it is one step in keeping ourselves and those around us safe from the virus. So Malaysians are asked to register for their vaccinations, and to make sure that they’ve done so properly to expedite the process.
