The story of Kee Nguyen began with two Malaysian graphic designers having the idea to serve wallet-friendly Vietnamese coffee with a taste so authentic that it can bring customers back to Vietnam with just one sip. Their passion resulted in a coffee startup business, which now runs over 50 outlets in Malaysia.
Yet, being affordable doesn’t mean skimping on the quality. Their Arabica and Robusta coffee beans are sourced directly from Da Lat in Vietnam, which is known to be an important region for coffee plantations in the country.

The Malaysian founders weren’t kidding when they said “affordable coffee”. At Kee Nguyen, you can get Vietnamese Americano (RM4), Vietnamese Condensed Milk Coffee (RM6), and Vietnamese Latte (RM7). 4. Cộng Caphe

Walking into Cộng Caphe feels like stepping into a bygone era of Vietnam. Having started the business in Vietnam and later expanding to Korea, Cộng Caphe’s founder, Linh Dung, brought vintage Vietnam to Malaysia in 2019 in the form of good brew and food.
The coffee shop gives off a rustic ambience with antique furniture, leather chairs, and time-worn books and magazines. Their outlets in Nu Sentral and 1 Utama further boast a loft-style aesthetic with wooden staircases that lead to the second floor.

Coffee in Cộng Caphe is phin-filtered – which is a traditional Vietnamese way of filtering coffee that results in a rich and syrupy cup of coffee – and freshly brewed using beans sourced from over 50 farmers in Vietnam. The phin-coffee menu comprises Hanoian Condensed Milk Coffee (RM10.90), Bac Xiu Coconut Coffee (RM12.90), and Vinacano (RM8.90) or Vietnamese Americano.
