Freeway E-Kart dubs itself the biggest indoor track centre in the Bandar Sunway area. It has 80,000sqft of space, which adds up to about a combined total of 17 basketball courts, with a 620m circuit covering 25 technical turns.
Both the grown-ups and kiddos are welcomed to zoom around the circuit, with different fixed top speeds for the electric karts. This ranges from the kid-friendly Entry Level to Level 3, which has a top speed of 85km/h.
Prices start from RM65/session, with each session lasting 8 minutes. If you’re a student, you can enjoy lower rates from RM49/session.

To feel like you’re part of a Tron light cycle race, opt to drop by Freeway E-Kart on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday night. You can experience night racing, with the barriers of the track lit up with neon lights. This night race is priced RM65/pax, and RM49/pax for students.

2. City Karting, Shah Alam

City Karting is a familiar name among go-karting kakis. This circuit in Shah Alam opened in 1997 – on its website, it claims to be the first outdoor go-kart track in Malaysia. It’s hosted numerous local and international races before too, so you know the track here serves quality.

You’ll be zooming down a 1.16km track with 12 turns, on regular karts (RM50/10 minutes) with a top speed of 70km/h. For those with a serious need for speed, there are racing karts (RM100/10 minutes) that let you blaze the arena at up to 105km/h.
For 4-15-year-old racers, and those with zero go-karting experience, there’ll be friendly workers to accompany you in the double-seater kart (RM60/10 minutes) so no one in your crew will be left out of the fun.

3. Evolt Karting, Shah Alam
F1-level professional karts
Though a newer kid on the block, Evolt Karting has quickly become a go-to karting spot for racers, thanks to its impressive 600m track with 24 turns. Not to mention, it offers F1-level Pro (RM100/pax) electric karts with an impressive top speed of 90km/h.
Do note that to ride these speedy e-karts, you’ll have to first conquer the track with a lap time of 42.0s in the Advance (RM85/pax) kart, which has a top speed of 70km/h.
For first-timers and kiddos who prefer to cruise on the circuit, the Novice (RM70/pax) and Junior (RM35/pax) karts will be right up your alley. There’s also the affordable Mini (RM25/pax) karts, suitable for both adults and kids. It can seat two racers. Each session has a duration of 8 minutes.
Evolt Karting also provides go-karting essentials, such as balaclava (RM5), gloves (RM5), and suits (RM15). Do note that wearing a balaclava is required to ride the karts here.

Beginner-friendly go-karts

When it comes to nostalgic hangout spots, it doesn’t get as familiar as Berjaya Times Square for KL folks. Besides the indoor rollercoaster and arcade at the mall, there’s an underground racing track to check out with your friends – Go-Kart BTSKL.
Located in the mall’s car park, this go-karting spot is beginner-friendly, with electric karts that go at leisurely speeds. You’ll be racing them on a track illuminated with neon lights, which will make you feel like you’re in an old-school arcade racing game.

To truly feel like a professional racecar driver, take your go-karting sessions to RUD Karting’s outlet in Sepang. You’ll be racing go-karts on the iconic Sepang International Circuit itself, a motorsport race track that has been the host to international racing events in Asia.

Your race will take place on the whopping 1,300m circuit with 12 turns. Whether you’re an experienced or first-time racer, you can begin your racing journey on the B-Stage 2 (RM95/pax) kart with 10hp. Else, opt for the speedier 4T Super Kart (RM180/pax) with 15hp. Each session here lasts 12 minutes.

Beyond just shopping at the popular 1 Utama Shopping Centre, you can race your friends at Morac Go Kart Track. Its 400m track is located in the outdoor parking area of the mall, just next to the parking bays.

There are two top-grade SODIKART go-karts: the singer-seater RT10 (RM85/10 minutes) and double-seater 2Drive (RM140/10 minutes), with top speeds of up to 55km/h. There’s no age limit to ride these karts, but you’ll need to be over 150cm to operate the RT10 and over 110cm for the 2Drive.
Some perks provided to all racers are free-to-borrow shoes as covered footwear is required to race, as well as free-flow Pepsi for every session.
7. TraXion Karting, Petaling Jaya

TraXion Karting at X Park Sunway Serene is said to be one of the biggest indoor karting arenas in the Kelana Jaya area. So while the park is best known as an adventure sports hub for a family-fun day or a team-bonding cohesion, it’s their go-karting zone that adrenaline junkies beeline for.

Their race 228.6m track will leave you feeling exhilarated with its challenging turns, and high speed corners that’ll take you and your friends by surprise.
As for your ride, there are three types of karts with different speed levels – Kiddie (RM35/pax), Fast (RM70/pax), and Double (RM70) karts.
Each race per session is 10 minutes, but specifically on Mondays to help patrons beat those pesky Monday blues, TraXion Karting lets you speed around the track for an extra 15 minutes with no additional changes. This is applicable to those opting for single sessions and the fast karts.

If one racing session isn’t enough to satisfy you, then Blastacars will be perfect for you. This indoor go-karting spot with two tracks in the car park area of Sungei Wang Plaza has bundle deals – purchase three sessions, and you’ll get the fourth one for free.
It’s also become a popular spot for go-karting in recent days – American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish dropped by this spot during her tour in Malaysia.

If drifting gives you an adrenaline kick, Blastacars offers custom-made drift karts that let racers drift like they’re in Fast & Furious. You’ll even get to join up to eight other racers on its 200m track.
As for speed, there are three classic levels – kids (RM60/pax), advance (RM90/pax), and pro (RM100/pax).

If you want to race with their pro-speed kart, which has a top speed of 112km/h, you’ll need to show your skill to the staff by racing with their advance speed kart at 80km/h. When the staff thinks you’re fit, you will earn a black card license that allows you to race among the pros.

The first of its kind in Kuala Lumpur, Lalaspeed E Kart Raceway offers speed-demons an outdoor go-karting experience on the rooftop of LaLaport BBCC. This racing venue overlooks KL’s skyline, with an unblocked view of the towering Merdeka 118 building right from the track.

There are two modes available – novice mode (RM58/pax) for 7-15 years old, and race mode (RM68/pax) for 16-year-olds and above.
Though the circuit here may not be as lengthy as the others on this list, each session lasts 10 minutes, which lets you race multiple laps to see who the real racing champ is in your group.

10. Formula Karting, Petaling Jaya
Mini Grand Prix for groups

Another arena on this list that’s situated inside a mall is Formula Karting – the Encorp Strand Mall in Petaling Jaya, to be precise. You’ll feel just like Lewis Hamilton when you compete against your friends on their 500m track with 22 technical turns.
There’s also Grand Prix 1 (RM160/pax), with a minimum of five pax, that lets you race your friends, with a 10-minute qualifying lap followed by at a 15-lap final race.

Kids aged 10 years old and above, with a minimum height of 140cm, are allowed to ride their karts. Each 10-minute session is priced from RM60/pax. If you’re opting for three sessions, there’s a slightly lower fee of RM160/pax.
They have racing gear rentals as these are required for each ride, such as balaclava (RM8) and gloves (RM3) – or you can choose their bundle pack (RM10) comprising both balaclava and gloves.

Featuring not one but three racing tracks is MYKART Raceway. This go-karting spot is located in the car park of Petaling Jay’s Tropicana Gardens Mall, with tracks catered to the types of go-kart it offers.
There’s the 105m Mini Track with 7 turns; 260m Junior/Double Track with 12 bends; and 600m Advanced Track with 19 corners. For even more thrills, MYKART Raceway has a new 845m Mega Track that’s currently on trial.
