Big Boss HSP in Klang Valley

Late-night cravings for Malaysians usually lead to a few familiar choices: the mamak, McDonald’s, or a quick bowl of instant noodles. But if you’re up for something a little more exciting and different, Big Boss HSP might just be your new go-to supper spot.

The origins of HSP & the Malaysian twist

Big Boss HSP is known for serving up generous portions of their signature hot snack pack (HSP) – called Halal Snack Pack in Aussie, which inspired Big Boss HSP – typically consisting of kebab meat and fries, smothered in an array of sauces.

First founded in a home kitchen back in 2022, the eatery has since expanded to five outlets across Klang Valley, located in hot spots including SS15 and Jalan Tun H S Lee. Open from 5pm till midnight, the place serves as the perfect spot to satisfy your midnight munchies.

The food at Big Boss HSP

Their signature HSP comes with a choice of chicken, beef, or a mix of both, layered over crispy fries, topped with mozzarella cheese, and finished with a generous drizzle of sauces.

There are seven sauces to choose from, and customers can choose up to three sauces to douse their HSP with. The top picks are the “Holy Trinity” combo, which includes the Signature Garlic, Smokey BBQ, and Sweet Chilli.

The first bite is crucial, not just for the flavour, but also to avoid spilling the overflowing portions – that’s just how generous the servings are.

A strong, satisfying flavour kick will first hit your tastebuds from the sauces. It’s not too much, just enough to dress the thick-cut fries that give off a satisfying crunch initially – though they soften slightly as they soak up the sauces. Meanwhile, the juicy kebab meat adds richness and a contrast that ties everything nicely together.

The HSP is available in three sizes: small (from RM15.90), large (from RM25.90), and extra large (from RM52.90).

These prices vary depending on the meat choices for chicken, beef, or a combo. Upgrades like adding mezza cheese, crisp booster, or switching normal fries to curly fries are also available to bring your HSP to the next level.

Another fan favourite is the Shawarma (from RM14.50), which is available as a la carte or a set option that comes with fries and a canned drink. The shawarma gives off a tangy flavour coming from the tomato and onions, balanced with savoury kebab meat and garlic sauce.
