Gentle Monster’s Tamburins To Open First M’sia Store, With Perfumes Endorsed By Celebs Like Jennie & Byeon Woo-Seok

Tamburins to open in Malaysia

If you’ve heard of Gentle Monster – the cult eyewear brand with eye-popping stores worldwide, including in Malaysia where animatronic bison and eyeballs greet shoppers – then you’ll want to be in the loop with Tamburins.

Its sister fragrance brand is landing in Malaysia with its first physical store, bringing to our shores a line of perfumes endorsed by Korean celebrities like JENNIE, Stray Kids’ Felix, and Byeon Woo-Seok.

Tamburins is a Korean fragrance brand best known for perfumes and hand creams, with newer collection additions such as body care, hair and lip, and home fragrance products. Established by the same company behind Gentle Monster, the brand carries a similar ethos: fragrance packaged in bottles that look more like art objects, and crafted with unconventional scents and a story in mind.

For starters, its Blue Hinoki perfume, endorsed by South Korean actor Byeon Woo-Seok, melds together the scents of fresh pine, bergamot, hinoki, and driftwood to evoke the image of a hinoki tree adrift on blue waves. It also comes in the brand’s ubiquitous speckled egg-shaped bottle.

Likewise, the brand’s new Sunshine perfume – meant to capture the warmth of a sleeping puppy with the use of muguet, guaiac wood, and musk – comes in a glass bottle shaped in a dog’s paw.

The brand has earned a cult following, with celebrity endorsements from popular Korean actors and K-pop idols – namely JENNIE, Stray Kids’ Felix, and Byeon Woo-Seok – boosting its presence globally.

While no official opening announcement has been made by Tamburins for its Malaysian outpost, sharp-eyed Malaysians have spotted a store hoarding for Tamburins at Suria KLCC in Kuala Lumpur. The upcoming store is located just across from the Gentle Monster outlet at the KL mall.

The Malaysian store will be the second Southeast Asian store from Tamburins, following its official opening in Bangkok, Thailand. Expect it to feature animatronic installations, similar to the ones at Gentle Monster, with a current “breathing” dachshund installation fronting its Sunshine perfume line.

Tamburins to debut physical store in Malaysia

With Tamburins products not officially available in Malaysia, the debut of a physical store carrying the brand’s full line of products is certainly exciting news for beauty peeps. Fans can expect to hear official store launch announcements on Tamburins’ official Instagram page – so keep your eyes peeled on it for updates on the Malaysian store.
