What we tried at Bake Gala 3.0

Classic Original Medovik Cake from MMG Patisserie (RM21)

Bringing a timeless taste of Russia to the gala , MMG Patisserie is best known for its signature honey cakes, layered with delicate precision. The Classic Original Medovik Cake delivers a gentle yet lingering burst of honey from the first bite of its soft and airy layers.

Despite the richness of its flavours, the cake feels surprisingly light.  The cake might lean slightly sweet for some due to the intensity of the honey, but makes for a nice treat for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Mochi Strawberry from Whose Bathtub? (RM24)

With an irresistibly cute logo and equally charming booth setup, Whose Bathtub? drew a crowd with their Mochi Strawberry cake, priced at RM24. What makes this booth stand out is its live execution of assembling the dessert-spectators are able to watch the strawberry jam being piped onto the strawberry cake, followed by the soft mochi layer being draped over it, and then finished with a fresh strawberry on top.

The mochi truly steals the spotlight here. It is soft, stretchy, and pairs beautifully with the fluffy cake beneath. The strawberries add a natural sweetness without being overly tart, making this a well-balanced and satisfying dessert.

Tuna Cronigri from Contour (RM16)

Known for their pastries, Contour brought a lineup of favourites to Bake Gala, including shiopans and kaya egg-tarts. But the true standout, or should we say, the triangle of the show, was their Tuna Cronigri, priced at RM16.

Think a crossover between a croissant and a onigri, with flaky croissant layers filled up with savoury tuna, topped with extra tuna flakes and wrapped in seaweed. It is hearty, unique, and surprisingly filling, which makes it perfect as a quick meal.

How do I make payments at Bake Gala 3.0?

The payment process follows a slightly old-school approach, but extremely straightforward and convenient. Begin by heading to each booth you’d like to purchase from, proceed to place your order,  and a receipt will be given to you upon ordering.

Once you’ve gathered all your receipts from the different vendors, simply proceed to the central payment counter to settle everything in one go,so there’s no need to keep reaching for your wallet at every stall.

Due to occasional issues with their card system, it is best to come prepared with QR payment or cash as a backup.
