10 New Cafes & Restaurants In Klang Valley This Aug – Supper Spots, Roast Duck By A Hong Kong Actor & More

New cafes & restaurants in Klang Valley

As August rolls around, a new wave of cafes and restaurants cements their spot across Klang Valley.

From late-night supper spots and dining in a glasshouse to a roast duck shop opened by a Hong Kong actor, here are 10 new cafes and restaurants in Klang Valley to check out this month.

1. Ara 56

Three local favourites under one roof

If you’re on the hunt for late-night makan spots beyond your usual mamak, Ara 56 deserves a spot on your radar. The new space brings together three homegrown brands under one roof: Big Boss HSP, Cookie Doh, and P.Pol.

Instead of the usual supper fare of roti canai and teh tarik, you’ll find everything from Malaysia’s first-ever Hot Snack Plate to freshly baked cookies and handcrafted drinks, making it an easy place to settle in for long catch-up sessions with friends.

The familiar name here is Big Boss HSP, which has officially opened its sixth outlet at Ara 56. Well-loved around Klang Valley, the brand is known for its signature Hot Snack Plate, starting from RM15.90, that’s perfect for sharing over late-night conversations.

If you’re looking for something less heavy, Cookie Doh has you covered. The dessert spot also has a new branch here, serving a wide variety of chunky cookies alongside its S’mores Scoopy Doh, starting from RM15.90, so you can end your supper hangout on a sweet note.

Completing the trio is P.Pol, making its debut with its first-ever outlet. Their refreshing drinks, starting from RM6, will be just what you need, whether you’re winding down after work or simply hanging out with friends.

2. Roundtable

Dining in a sun-filled glasshouse

If you’ve ever wanted to dine surrounded by greenery without leaving the city, Roundtable at Putrajaya offers just that. Designed like a modern glasshouse, the cafe is filled with natural sunlight, lush plants, and earthy interiors, creating a bright and airy space that feels like dining in a garden.

Selling more than just cafe favourites, Roundtable also puts a modern spin on traditional Malaysian dishes, with options such as Nasi Kerabu, starting from RM32, that is not your conventional meal served with sirloin steak.

For something lighter, you can also stop by for a quick tea-time break, with a selection of cakes and drinks to enjoy alongside the tranquil surroundings.

3. Hillside Doudou Bakes & Glouglou

Doudou by day, Glouglou by night

Image adapted from: @hillside_doudou via Instagram

Well-known bakery Doudou Bakes has opened their second branch at Steppes in Mont Kiara, so residents have another spot to grab their early morning fix of freshly baked pastries and coffee.

Well-loved for their pastries like shio pans (RM8), sourdough loaves (from RM15), and coffee (from RM13), Doudou Bakes is known to draw crowds, so be sure to arrive early as popular bakes can sell out quickly.

Image adapted from: @hillside_doudou via Instagram

The space has a different side once the sun goes down. By day, Doudou Bakes serves up the classic cafe-bakery fare, while by night, the space transforms into Glouglou, a steakhouse operating in the same space under a separate name.

– March –

We’re marching right into March with even more cafes and restaurants to explore in our towns.

If you already love the coffee sips and minimalist-chic interiors at your go-to spot for brunch or dinner, here are 18 new spots in Klang Valley to visit that are shaking up neighbourhoods with just as good drinks, aesthetics, and food.

1. It’s Herbs Sense

TCM-inspired drinks

It’s Herbs Sense has found a home inside REXKL, a space where history has been given a modern spin. This new spot, helmed by a traditional Chinese medicine shop, similarly blends the old and the new, mixing traditional Chinese medicine with cafe culture.

Ditch that order of bubble milk tea, and get yourself guilt-free TCM-inspired concoctions from them, such as the Pepper Drama (RM18), an eye-catching green drink that melds the flavours of green pepper and pineapple together surprisingly well.

Another must-try here is the Hanka Punch (RM18), which uniquely features Luo Han Guo, licorice, and chrysanthemum. It’s refreshing and well-balanced, perfect for the hot weather.

Rates for laundry are as reasonably priced as their food, with a cold wash priced at RM8, a warm wash at 40°C and a hot wash at 60°C at RM10. For drying, it is RM10 for 30 minutes, with an additional RM2 for every extra 10 minutes.
