Chinese concerts in Malaysia in 2024
Even Malaysian ‘bananas’, or ethnic Chinese individuals who don’t speak Chinese well, will recall having our heartstrings pulled by ballads from popular Chinese artists like Guang Liang and Fish Leong. Beyond international English-language hits, Mando- and Canto-pop have always been musical mainstays for us – especially when we’re doing karaoke with our friends.
We rounded up a list of Chinese concerts in Malaysia in 2024 to snag tickets to, so you can belt out your favourite ballads from your childhood to present with likeminded music fans.

Taiwanese singer-actress, Rainie Yang last dazzled Malaysians four years ago. She is now set to serenade her Malaysian fans once again, with an upcoming show at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil on 27th July. The concert will feature some of her hit songs such as Bad Lady, Singing In The Rain, Like A Star, and Love Rain.

OSN
3rd August

OSN is set to perform in Malaysia on 3rd August in Genting Highlands. This is the first time that the hip-hop, singer-rapper based in Taiwan will be performing in Malaysia, with expected live performances of hits from his debut album #osnrap which features songs such as Everybody Bounce, Runaway, and The Last Time.

Wu Bai & China Blue Concert

Taiwanese rock singer Wu Bai is performing for 2 nights at Mega Star Arena in Sungei Wang Plaza. He makes a highly-anticipated return, after holding a sold-out show in Genting Highlands last year in 2023. For this year’s concert, get ready to headbang to his popular songs such as Wanderer’s Love Song, Love You Ten Thousand Years, and Farewell My Love.

Ella Chen & WeiBird

Two popular Taiwanese singers – talented composer WeiBird, and Asian singer-actress, Ella Chen – will be performing together for Malaysian fans. The concert will be held at Arena of Stars Genting Highlands on 24th August.
The concert theme is called, World of Two, where both singers will be performing some of their famous songs, such as Ella’s How Old Are You, and WeiBird’s Red Scarf. Fans can look forward to a night of nostalgia and powerful vocals singing along to various music styles.

菲道尔 Firdhaus

Firdhaus is a Malaysian mando-pop singer and songwriter who will be performing in Malaysia on 31st August at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands. The singer became popular after releasing his song Gulf of Alaska in 2020.
Following his sellout show in Singapore, he is having a homecoming concert for his Hello Again Asia Tour. Fans can look forward to singing along to his chart-topping hits such as Divorce in Ghana and Gulf of Alaska.

Mando-pop’s King of Dance, singer and actor, Show Lo is making his return to Malaysia with his world tour Evolution 2024 on 14th September.
The 44-year-old singer last performed in Malaysia in March 2023. He is set to perform his popular songs that have won the hearts of fans worldwide, such as Underneath The Sky, Anonymous Sadness, and I’ll Get Used To It . Fans can look forward to singing along to these Show Lo tracks when he performs at Mega Star Arena at Sungei Wang Plaza.

On 8th May, event organiser StarPlanet announced on Facebook that the legendary Andy Lau will be holding a concert in Malaysia. This comes after the Chinese singer-songwriter announced concerts in Singapore, as well as several China cities including Shanghai and Guangzhou. He’ll be having not one, but four shows in Malaysia at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil in October. Fans can look forward to the singer’s return, after a 5-year hiatus due to an unfortunate accident.

Jay Chou: Carnival World Tour

Taiwanese Mando-pop king, Jay Chou has announced that he will be making a return to Malaysia with his much-anticipated Carnival World Tour on 26th October.
The iconic singer-songwriter is known for popular hits – such as, Love Confession, Silence, and Won’t Cry – which has won the hearts of fans worldwide. Fans can look forward to singing along to the romantic tracks of Jay Chou when he performs at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil.
Details regarding the time and ticket price of the concert have yet to be announced.

Fish Leong: When We Talk About Love World Tour
20th April
Chinese-Malaysian singer-songwriter, Fish Leong – or Liang Jing Ru – will be performing at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil as part of her When We Talk About Love World Tour. She’ll be serenading fans with hits and recently-released songs from her 2023 album, titled The Wonder of Wandering Life. The concert will also be a celebration of her illustrious 20-year music career.

Kelly Yu: 3×3 World Tour Asia
24th April
Kelly Yu, a Chinese-Canadian triple threat, will be performing live at the Arena Of Stars in Resorts World Genting on 24th April. The singer, songwriter, and music producer will be dropping by Malaysia for her 3×3 World Tour, which kickstarted in Beijing back in July 2023.
Fans can look forward to singing along to her recently-released song Hello, as well as her other popular hits such as Decency and Left On Read.

Young Captain: Starry U World Tour
27th & 28th April
Chinese singer-songwriter, Young Captain, has been melting hearts around the world with his smooth vocals and ballads. This April, he’ll be holding a 2-day concert as part of his Starry U World Tour, marking a return since his last performance in Malaysia at Genting Highlands in May 2023.
This year, he’ll be performing his latest song, Wind, as well as all-time favourite songs from fans such as NUNA and 11. Fans can also look forward to special guest, KEYI杨豪, who’ll be joining him on stage during the concert.

Michael Wong: Lonely Planet 2.0 Concert Tour
4th May
Malaysia’s very own Mandopop “Prince of Love Songs”, Michael Wong – better known as Guang Liang – will be returning to the stage after a 5-year hiatus. He’ll be performing at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil on 4th May for his Lonely Planet 2.0 Concert Tour, so fans can sing along to “wo yuan bian cheng tong hua li” live with the Ipoh-born singer.

Zhao Chuan Live Concert
11th May
62-year-old Taiwanese singer, and winner of the Best Male Singer at the 1991 Golden Melody Awards, Zhao Chuan will be performing for his Malaysian fans at his upcoming concert in Genting Highlands on 11th May. Fans can look forward to seeing the artist croon to his hits like I’m Just A Little Bird.

Tank: About Love and Courage
25th May
Taiwanese singer and songwriter, Lu Jianzhong – better known by his stage name Tank – is set to perform for his fans in Malaysia at his 5th May concert. The concert, part of his Tank: About Love And Courage tour, will take place at Zepp KL on 25th May. The artist had previously gone on multiple hiatus for health and other reasons. He has since made a comeback, and is set to perform his iconic songs such as Romance of Three Kingdoms and Personal Angelonce again.

Gary Chaw: Crazy for Live 2nd Encore Live
1st June
Chart-topping Cantopop singer, Gary Chaw, recently sold out concerts in Sydney, Melbourne, and Macau. In June, the Malaysian-born and Taiwan-based performer will be having a homecoming with a live concert in Genting Highlands.
As the concert is part of his Crazy For Live 2nd Encore Live tour, he will be switching things up slightly by welcoming eight musicians on stage to perform new renditions of his beloved songs. Some tunes that you can look forward to waving your arms back and forth to are Superwoman, Betrayal, and Romeo And Juliet.

Jony J: [24 Hours] Summer Tour
15th June
Jony J is set to hit the stage in Kuala Lumpur at JioSpace on 15th June. The famous rapper from China is set to entertain his Malaysian fans with songs off his latest albums that were released in 2023, 24 Hours (AM) and 24 Hours (PM), as well as his popular songs such asNo Need To Guess, My Man, and Nostalgic For The Old.

Accusefive: Around The New World
15th & 16th June
Taiwanese indie rock band, Accusefive, will be making their way to Malaysia for their 1st world tour at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil. Fans can look forward to a 2-day concert on 15th and 16th June. Since their tour kicked off in April 2024, concert tickets were sold out at every show.
They are set to perform songs from their 2023 album, We Will Be Fine, which features the all-time hit, Somewhere in Time.

Andy Hui: Human Live
22nd June
Andy Hui has starred in over 30 films and released countless albums alongside his acting gigs. At his upcoming concert in KL on 22nd June, we can look forward to the singer performing all the classic mid-tempo romantic tracks that he’s best known for, such as Yesterday Person, I Like You Because Of You, and Not In Vain.

Lay Zhang – GRANDLINE 4: STEP World Tour

Though we’ve not gotten any deets on the specific date or location of his concert, fans are already going into a frenzy over Chinese singer-songwriter Lay Zhang’s upcoming concert in KL. He previously performed in KL in 2022 for GRANDLINE2: INFINITE LANDS, which was his first solo concert in Malaysia. He’ll be making his return for a grand world tour, titled GRANDLINE 4: STEP.
