Coalfields Retail Park in Sungai Buloh
There’s just a handful of malls to eat and shop at in Sungai Buloh. The town northwest of Kuala Lumpur gets a rep for being more residential than commercial. But this is changing with the introduction of Coalfields Retail Park, a new family-friendly mall that opened there in September 2026.
Here’s everything you need to know about it:
Where is Coalfields Retail Park?

Coalfields Retail Park is located in the flourishing township of Bandar Seri Coalfields in Sungai Buloh.
The mall is strategically located in the town, enveloped by other established residential townships, recreational facilities, and educational institutions, so residents in Greater North Klang Valley have a new place to shop, eat, and unwind at after hours and on the weekends.
What is Coalfields Retail Park?

Developed by KLK Land, Coalfields Retail Park is a 2.5-storey mall that features over 100 brands covering F&B, lifestyle, and entertainment. To welcome families with open arms, the mall has pockets of green spaces that complete its unique indoor-outdoor hybrid mall concept – reminiscent of an American strip mall – as well as outdoor facilities like a public kid’s playground.
What to expect at the mall
Outdoor spaces

Going beyond the usual mall experience, Coalfields Retail Park feels more like a, well, park. It’s connected to a 7-acre park with a lake, dedicated bike lanes, and a playground. Several restaurants overlook the park and playground, so families can grab a bite at the mall while the kiddos play on swings and slides.

The mall’s outdoor shopping area is also centred around a garden-like courtyard that comprises lush greenery, water features, and benches.
An ice skating rink

Inside the shopping mall, an ice skating rink from Blue Ice Skating Rink takes centre stage. The rink takes up a decent amount of space in the mall’s left wing on the Ground Floor, so skaters can put on their ice skates and go rounds without feeling crammed.
The rink gets a nice glow of natural lighting thanks to the glass roof right above it, too.
Bumper cars, cycling & boats

It won’t just be one activity with Swift Bike.
This spot in the mall offers reasonably priced rental services for bikes, boats, scooters, and even electric cruisers that thrill-seekers of all ages can take out for a round at the park. An arena at its rental service kiosk also accommodates bumper car rides.
What are the tenants at Coalfields Retail Park?
A good 90% of shops have opened along with the Coalfields Retail Park’s grand opening on 10th September, so you can expect to see more than just shops behind hoardings on a trip here.
Food & beverage

Many of Malaysia’s favourite eateries have opened an outlet here. The list covers popular beverage spots, including CHAGEE, ChaTraMue, JomCha, and Kopi Saigon, and dessert go-tos such as Baskin Robbins and Ibakedesserts.
Have a quick bite on your trip to the mall, with kiosks from McDonald’s, Sushi King, and Yakigo. Or have a more proper sit-down meal at Hock Kee Kopitiam, Lisette’s, K Fry Urban Korea, and more.

McDonald’s and Texas Chicken standalone outlets are also in the vicinity of the mall, with drive-through facilities.
