Eat Mee Mee in Shah Alam
Aside from much-loved comfort foods like nasi lemak or roti canai, the idea of slurping down a warm bowl of noodles sits high on the list of favourites come rain or shine. Over in Shah Alam, there’s Eat Mee Mee – an instant noodle convenience store that lets you cook up a hearty bowl of slurpable goodness, just like the popular ones you see in Thailand.Â
Besides the 99 instant noodles varieties, they have add-on ingredients priced from just RM1 to level up your meal.
99 flavours to choose from
Tucked in Shah Alam, Eat Mee Mee is Klang Valley’s first cook-it-yourself instant noodle shop that recently opened its doors for noodle lovers. This Muslim-friendly shop takes instant noodle meals at convenience stores to the next level, offering 99 varieties of Asian-favourite mee.
On a wall by the entrance, you’ll find these in a glorious display – from locally loved Maggi and Mie Sedaap, to Samyang and Nongshim. For something to really warm your soul on a cooler rainy day, there are also options from A1 with their signature herby broths and even an abalone flavour.
Besides beloved brands from Korea, you’ll also find instant noodle brands popular in countries such as Japan and Thailand, including Nissin, Myojo, and MAMA Noodles. Well-known Singaporean–favourites like Irvin’s and Koka can also be found here.Â
Rest assured, there’ll be something for everyone – from the spicy-avoidant to extra pedas lovers – with the range of noodles offered here. A packet of noodles is priced between RM4.50 and RM8 – while slightly pricier than usual, it’s the novelty of the experience that counts.
Add on a variety of toppings & prepare your mealÂ
Noodles are best served with additional ingredients, and you’ll be pleased to know that there are 25 different types of pre-packed toppings available, priced from RM1 each.
There are Prawns and Boiled Scallop Meat (RM1.50/pc), as well as a wide selection of fishcakes such as Fish Ball with Cheese & Shrimp, Cuttlefish Ball, and Seafood Tofu, priced RM1/pc. All these are individually packed, so you can decide on just how many you want to add to upsize your meal.Â
To prepare your very own 4-minute meal, simply select your instant noodles and toppings, then head over to the cashier to proceed with payment. Note that only cashless payments are accepted here, so reloading your e-wallet is highly recommended.
The cooking station is equipped with everything, from strainers to additional seasonings.
Once you’ve paid for your meal, proceed to the cooking station where you’ll find a row of induction cookers to cook up your noodles. Simply turn on the induction cooker and follow the 4-step instructions provided, add readily available water to your bowl, and your noodles will be ready in no time.
For beverages, diners get to enjoy complimentary filtered water. Additionally, there are carbonated beverages and a plethora of ice creams to savour as desserts.
