On Saturday, 3rd July 2021, netizen Siti Norsiah Osman shared a video of a funeral van carrying her aunt who passed away because of COVID-19 at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Pahang. The 62-second-long emotional video was recorded at her aunt’s house in Janda Baik, Bentong, Pahang. It shows footage of the funeral van passing by the house while being accompanied by escorts.
The family was only able to wave goodbye from a distance as the van approached the house without making a stop. Siti’s family members can be seen tearing up emotionally for not being to see the victim or pay their final tribute before burial.
In the video, an officer can be heard saying sorry to the family for not being able to make a stop and let them have a final look at the victim before heading onto the next destination.
Siti’s post has since gone viral with over 200,000 views, 3,000 shares and 1,000 comments from netizens who sympathised with her and sent her prayers and encouraging words for the incident.
In the original post, Siti also wrote that her aunt passed away less than a year after her late father and uncle. Now that she’s also gone, all of her dad’s siblings have departed, leaving their children alone. Siti also sends her condolences to her cousins in Pahang and says sorry for not being to join them in person.
