Free outdoor movie screenings for MIFFest at MyTown

There’s a whole slew of Hollywood movies hitting the theatres in July. But if you’re looking to discover local films under the stars, head over to MyTOWN Shopping Centre, the venue for the MIFFest Open Air Cinema. From 20th to 27th July 2025, the event by Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) will be screening local movies like The Journey and Munafik 2 for free at the KL mall. Here’s what you need to know:

Films & short films screened for MIFFest Open Air Cinema

Sure, we can watch movies at home. But not all of us have large screens and surround sound. Now, enter MIFFest Open Air Cinema, which will be screening a lineup of Malaysian-made movies in a range of genres for free at MyTOWN’s Sunken Garden.

Here’s the rundown of films and short films to catch for free:

  • 20th July, 7.30pm: Polis Evo
  • 21st July, 7.30pm: Fly By Night
  • 22nd July, 7.30pm: Desolasi

It opens 4pm-10pm from Mondays to Thursdays, and 10am-10pm from Fridays to Sundays.
