Having left its mark in neighbouring cities such as Bangkok, Thailand, and Taipei, Taiwan, Junji Ito Horror House is a touring exhibition that’s now open in Malaysia at LG1 of LaLaport BBCC mall in Kuala Lumpur.

The exhibition is separated into two halls, each specially curated to offer horror lovers the opportunity to witness some of Ito’s most iconic works. Be on the lookout for spine-tingling zones that bring to life scenes from the artist’s famed manga works, such as The Long Hair in The Attic and Headless Sculptures. If you’ve recently binge-watched Netflix’s Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, you definitely won’t want to miss out on this exhibition either.

Do note that you will be organised in groups of 8-10 individuals per entry

You can opt to purchase tickets individually or as a package of four. Witness horrifying scenes at the Hall of Vengeance and Vile of Evil

Your toe-curling journey through this exhibition will begin at Hall A, the Hall of Vengeance, which is filled with numerous doorways with dangling ropes. This symbolises the macabre narrative of the Long Hair in the Attic – so be warned that the halls are not for the faint of heart.

Other eerie encounters that’ll test your courage in the exhibition include the ghastly library featured in Library Vision, and the encounter with Tomie in a dimly lit room where peculiar photographs from Tomie Photo can also be witnessed.

Delve deeper and brace yourself to meet the mischievous Soichi from Soichi’s Beloved Pet, and the unsettling sight of your own face among Ito’s infamous hanging head balloons in Hanging BalloonAdditionally, you can explore a variety of Ito’s creative works and engage in an interactive scene from Uzumaki, which is slated for release later this year.
