Before you go, “Another mall in KL?!”, hear us out about Ombak KLCC.
The new mall in Kuala Lumpur, located just a stone’s throw from the Petronas Twin Towers and well-established Suria KLCC, is set to be more like a retail and lifestyle space. It features an art gallery as its main tenant, as well as public spaces such as an outdoor plaza and rooftop garden.
The highly anticipated Nintendo and Pokémon Centre pop-ups are set to open in the mall, too.
With the mall officially opening its doors on 21st August 2026, we headed down to the mall on launch day to bring you this first look:
What is Ombak KLCC?
With a facade and its name inspired by the flowing form of a wave, Ombak KLCC is a stylish new 7-storey mall located within the KLCC precinct. Developed by KLCC Property Holdings, the same group behind Suria KLCC, the uniquely built mall is set to complement rather than compete with its iconic neighbour with its mix of tenants and public spaces.
How to get to Ombak KLCC?
If you’re wondering just how accessible Ombak KLCC is, it’s a 10-minute walk from the Petronas Twin Towers and a shorter 2-minute walk from Persiaran KLCC station on the Putrajaya MRT line.
There are covered links connecting the new mall, KLCC Park, and Suria KLCC, and a free buggy service that shuttles people around the precinct, stopping at Traders Hotel, CONVEX, MOKUL, Suria KLCC, and Ombak KLCC. Three buggies operate at a 30-minute frequency, between 10am and 10pm.
If you’re looking to hitch a ride, the main entrance is the pick-up and drop-off point for the buggies at Ombak KLCC.
What to expect at Ombak KLCC?
Food & beverage spots
There are over 120 retail spaces at Ombak KLCC. The mall’s list of tenants is skewed towards food, with familiar beverage spots and popular eatery outlets on the directory list.
Now open at the mall are go-to names like Oriental Kopi, Jom Amigo, Beutea, Milk & Barley, Nak Nak, and ZUS Signature, with others like HEYTEA, DONKAI, and Zaitoun set to open soon.

Retail shops
Retail shops aren’t as extensive as the food spots on the mall’s directory, but you’ll find all the essentials, including now-open outlets from Samsung, Coway, Xiaomi, Milolo, Wah Chan, Flipper, and Alpro Pharmacy.
Also open in the mall are Kpix Selfie Studio, a Korean-style selfie photo booth, and Urban Marketplace, a huge supermarket with fresh produce and pantry staples.
The marketplace also covers Urban Lokal, an area inside the supermarket to shop for just Malaysian-made goods, and Urban Eats, a food hall with kiosks from Toast Maker, Little Canton, Yakigo, and Auntea Jenny.

Outdoor spaces
Unlike traditional malls that focus on just shopping, Ombak KLCC will feel a little different.
While we love our air-conditioned window shopping, the 3,501sqm rooftop garden at Ombak KLCC will be perfect for evening strolls. There’s more concrete than trees up here, but there are plenty of seats and a splendid unobstructed view of the Petronas Twin Towers and KL Towers.
The Stargazing Plaza on the ground floor will be another spot for leisurely activities, boasting 10,000sqft of open-air space next to KLCC Park that’s reserved for future pop-ups and performances.
The plaza is also wrapped with jogging paths that connect with the existing track at KLCC Park.
Galeri Petronas
There’s an emphasis on art and culture at the mall, with 18,600sqm of space dedicated to Galeri Petronas, which will move here from Suria KLCC. The gallery will open in phases from 21st August, with a current public art exhibit called The Blueprint in Motion for everyone to scan the panels and interact with augmented reality (AR) displays.

Nintendo & Pokémon Centre pop-ups
Two pop-ups for Nintendo and Pokémon Centre are set to open in the mall from 12th September to 31st December, which will be a first in Malaysia.
