Pos Malaysia Is Open For Walk-In Road Tax & Licence Renewal Starting 6th September 2021

Pos Malaysia accepts walk-in customers for JPJ renewal services

Last month, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) announced that all road users in Malaysia must have their driving licence and road tax renewed by 30th September 2021 with no further extension given. The announcement triggered an influx of people into post office counters nationwide as they were rushing to get their road tax and licences renewed.

Thankfully, the transport ministry has reinstated extended the deadline to 31st December 2021 to give Malaysians more time for JPJ renewal services. Following the announcement, Pos Malaysia has also opened up its counters for walk-in customers who wished to renew their licence and road tax at their offices.

Pos Malaysia has announced over the last weekend that starting 6th September 2021, they will be accepting walk-in customers at all of their outlets for JPJ renewal services – Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM) and Malaysian Driving Licenses (LMM).

The national courier service said that customers with existing appointments can choose to either walk-in to the nearest post office to renew their road tax or licence or continue with their appointments at their preferred date, time and location.

In its effort to break the Covid-19 chain, Pos Malaysia will continue to implement health SOPs at all of their offices such as limiting the number of customers at one time within their premises, compulsory usage of face masks, temperature checks, scanning MySejahtera code upon entry and physical distancing of at least one metre among customers.

People who exhibit Covid-19 symptoms will not be allowed entry into the premises. Alternatively, customers can opt for the use of JPJ renewal services through Pos Malaysia’s website by booking an appointment or they can do so by using any one of these 13 platforms for a hassle-free experience.

Pos Malaysia is opened for walk-in road tax and licence renewal

It’s great that Pos Malaysia now accepts walk-ins for JPJ renewal services after last week’s announcement by Transport Minister Dr Wee Ka Siong that the deadline for LKM and LMM has been extended to 31st December 2021. This gives Malaysians more time to get the errands done. We hope people can plan their visits wisely to avoid overcrowding at the counters.
