Launch in June 2026 after several delays
The LRT Shah Alam line, formerly known as LRT3, began construction works in 2016 and was slated to begin operations in 2025. Transport Minister Anthony Loke later gave an update on the project in a written response to a parliamentary query that the opening was pushed back to 30th September 2025.
However, the launch was again pushed to 2026 due to a signalling system issue and the inability of trains to finish the necessary fault-free run on the line.

After several bouts of delays, on 22nd June, it was confirmed in a statement by the Transport Minister that the LRT Shah Alam line will finally begin full operations on Monday, 29th June. An opening ceremony for the line will be held the day before, on 28th June.
