SkyCity Is A New 600m Glass Slide In Shah Alam That Lets You “Swim” In The Sky

SkyCity in i-City Shah Alam

Going down a water slide at a theme park is always an adventurous experience. But the folks at Shah Alam’s iconic i-City Theme Park have conjured up a new SkyCity attraction that offers Squid Game-level thrills – a 600m-long glass slide that juts and spirals from a 60m-tall tower glittering with LED lights.

Here’s all you need to know about it, as it is slated to open to the public on 18th January 2025.

i-City already offers plenty of excitement at its water park. But now there’s their latest SkyCity, touted as Malaysia’s first-ever water glass slide, which strikingly resembles the famous one in China and even Korea’s impossible-looking Pohang Space Walk.

According to i-City’s website, those daring enough to take on the slide will get to experience “swimming” in the sky and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the surroundings from up top while at it – that’s if you manage to keep your eyes open throughout the 60m-tall ride, of course.

Besides the insane height, it works pretty much like a regular slide. You’ll take an elevator up to the top of the tower, and have two options – either take a second to soak up the views from the glass viewing deck, or jump straight into a raft and be launched from the SkyCity Tower. The journey down comprises swoops and spirals to leave you breathless.

While the glass water slide opens at 3.30pm on weekdays and 10am on the weekends, it’s recommended to go on the ride when night falls as the tower and winding slide light up in a spectacular display of colours. Even if you wimp out, you can enjoy the dazzling show of lights.
