Spillstone Coffee: A New Glasshouse Cafe In KL With Striking Monochrome Theme & Decaf Watermelon Coffee

Spillstone Coffee in KL

There seems to be a new aesthetic cafe popping up in Kuala Lumpur every other week. Over in the bustling Pudu, which is best known for its markets and hawkers, there’s a new cafe that’s a shutterbug’s dream: Spillstone Coffee.

With a dining area separated into two spaces marked by contrasting decor – one in chic-black and the other in minimalist-white – you’re bound to leave this cafe with plenty of photos.

Stylish cafes aren’t hard to come by in the capital city. But Spillstone Coffee has a pretty unique dining space, which makes it stand out from the rest.

When you enter the cafe, you’ll be greeted with a dining area featuring black walls, and a textured stone coffee bar where their baristas are busy brewing coffee drinks from scratch. The decor in here is sparse – but that’s part of the charm of the sleek monochrome space.

But that’s not all there is to the cafe. In the corner of the main dining space, you’ll find a discrete tunnel.

Venture through, and you’ll be met with a picturesque glasshouse seating area complete with white walls and seats – talk about a cool light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel concept.

If you like to sip on your cup of coffee with plenty of natural light, this dining corner will definitely be right up your alley.

Fruity decaf coffee & dishes from around the world

Spillstone Coffee has three speciality decaf coffee drinks (RM15/cup) with fruity twists. If you prefer to sip on something hot, the Watermelon White is a classic decaf white but with a sweet hint of watermelon.

The other two options are decaf espressos served cold with fizzy soda water: Sunrise with orange juice and orange milk foam topping, and Dragon’s Eye with longan.

If you’re feeling peckish, the cafe has a variety of brunch mains on their menu. It’s hard to go wrong with the Classic Pancakes (RM18) with maple syrup or Avocado On Toast (RM28).

But for something more adventurous, the cafe also serves dishes from around the world. There are interesting options such as Ouroborus (RM29), a Greek-inspired dish comprising chicken skewers and a dill dipping sauce, and Zmei (RM38), a take on the popular Ukrainian chicken Kiev.
