Taco Bell To Open 1st Branch In Cyberjaya On 2nd April, M’sians Can Finally Get Mexican-Style Fast Food

Taco Bell opens first branch in Cyberjaya

Malaysians have been excited about the opening of Taco Bell since it was announced back in June 2020 that the American fast food joint serving Mexican-style food would be opening their first branch on our shores. With foodies holding onto their hats for more information ever since the announcement was made, Taco Bell has since set up an official Facebook page.

There, they wasted no time in sharing with their excited followers that their first branch will be opening on 2nd April 2021.

US fast food joint sets up first outlet in Malaysia

Mexican-style food is not hard to find in Malaysia, with well-known spots such as Órale and Chili’s offering up pretty legit Tex-Mex fare for anyone craving tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. But we have yet to have a fast food joint dishing out Mexican-style dishes with wallet-friendly meals and drive-thru options – until now.

Taco Bell – a well-known US fast food joint – is said to be opening their first branch in Cyberjaya, as announced on their official website. In a Facebook and Instagram post dated today, they also shared that they’ll be opening their first store on Friday, 2nd April – 11 days from today, 22nd March.

The fast food chain currently operates over 7,000 restaurants, with 500 restaurants in over 30 countries outside of the US. Our neighbours in Indonesia recently introduced a new Taco Bell branch to their part of the world with much anticipation from locals there. With how popular Taco Bell’s stores have become in popular culture and as a food haunt for many, they’ve even branched out with a Taco Shop that sells Taco Bell-themed merch that includes fun pyjama sets and retro T-shirts.

Mexican-style fast food and icy drinks – Taco Bell’s staples

Malaysians can look forward to the long list of Mexican-inspired food, which are typically wallet-friendly, that Taco Bell serves. Their menu is made up of tacos, burritos, nacho plates, and Mexican rice bowls. A little lesser-known star of the menu are their Freeze drinks – frozen drinks in a variety of sweet flavours that’ll remind you of Slurpee cups at 7-11.

While there’s no word yet on whether these will be added to the menu at their Malaysian branch, these Freeze drinks are well-known amongst fans of Taco Bell as being a mainstay on their menu – and something that their Indonesian outlet serves.

Other recognisable menu items that we hope to see available here are Taco Bell’s supreme wraps – tortillas packed with ground beef, cheese sauce and vegetables and pan-fried for a slightly crispy exterior – and chicken quesadillas, which are toasted tortillas that sandwich cheese, grilled chicken and creamy jalapeno sauce.

Taco Bell opens first branch in Malaysia at Cyberjaya

Taco Bell’s entry into Malaysia is a new opening that many have been keeping their eye out for, as Mexican food lovers will now have a fast food option for tacos, burritos and more. As their first branch opening on 2nd April in Cyberjaya will not be their only one – as Tropicana Gardens Mall’s official Facebook page shared in June 2020 that they will supposedly be home to a Taco Bell branch too – we can look forward to more spots to get fast Mexican-inspired fast food in the near future too.

Meanwhile, you can give Taco Bell Malaysia’s official Facebook and Instagram pages a follow to keep up to date with their openings.
