Shiba Inu goes viral after buyer receives its fur
Packages nowadays typically come with bubble wrap within to secure items during the delivery process. This Malaysian man, however, got a “complimentary” clump of dog fur in a package he received from a Shopee seller.
When he jokingly asked what dog the seller owned due to the unexpected presence of fur in his package, the latter sent photos of their Shiba Inu along with an apology. After the story went viral, the seller also received requests for photos of their Shiba Inu from other individuals – which they good-naturedly obliged to.
The birth of an “influencer dog” due to its loose fur
On 25th June 2020, netizen Eric Chen took to Facebook group 虾皮Shopee交流群 to share what happened as the incident had left him in stitches. According to the post, he purchased electronic cigarettes from a Shopee seller, only to find fur in the package he received.
Curious, Chen messaged the seller on Shopee and asked them about the fur.

In a screenshot showing the conversation between him and the seller, which he shared in the Facebook post, Chen lightheartedly asked, “Your house [rear] what dog har? So much fur came out from the parcel.”
Instead of trying to play it off, the seller honestly answered, “Sorry boss,” while jokingly adding, “Later I [will] eat my dog.” Not the end of the tale, the seller then proceeded to include a photo of the culprit in question – an adorable Shiba Inu dog – looking abashed.

After the conversation went viral, the seller joking said that they now had an “influencer dog”, whose name is Doudou – or Bean – due to its increasing popularity.
Along with a photo of Doudou, looking like it was smiling, the seller sent Chen a follow-up message in Chinese. Translated into English, it read: “Doudou said: ‘Thank you. After one year of living, I never thought I’d debut as an influencer dog. I have lived my dog life with no regrets’.”
