Delivery rider keeps family close to him during work

Delivery riders have been helping to bring us food while we avoid going outdoors as much as possible during the pandemic. While going about their work, they often have to put up with safety risks that come with the job, such as rainy weather.

In a wholesome effort to be a careful rider, this food delivery rider in KL decorated his delivery carrier bag with photos of his wife and daughter. It acts as a reminder for him to be cautious while at work, and to motivate himself as he is a full-time rider supporting his family.

Photos of family as reminder and motivation for delivery rider

On 27th June 2021, netizen @butterchikin took to Twitter to share a photo of her GrabFood delivery rider who delivered her food order.

She had done so because she was touched by the photos of his family that he had stuck to his delivery carrier bag.

In an interview with Malay Mail, the delivery rider, whose name is Khairil Latip Razak, said that the photos were there as a self reminder for him not to speed or rush while he was delivering food.

This is because he has a family – a wife and young daughter – waiting for him at home, whom he often thinks about even while working. As he works full time as a GrabFood delivery rider to support them, he only gets to see them late at night after he’s done with deliveries. So he ensures that he gets home safely by staying responsible on the road.

He also said in the interview that the photos serve as motivation for him to work hard.

Netizens touched by delivery rider’s deed

The Twitter post shared by @butterchikin has garnered over 20,000 likes at the time of writing, with many netizens touched by the story. This included Twitter user @_vodkantequila, who tweeted, “The most wholesome thing I’ve seen on the internet today.”
