Offee in Johor Bahru
Cafes have become our new hangout spots on the weekends. As we Malaysians are spending more time exploring food haunts with aesthetic spaces, there seems to be a new cafe cropping up in our neighbourhoods every other week. Over in the city of Johor Bahru, Offee is a new cafe on Jalan Dhoby that has been attracting patrons with its speciality coffee, pastries, and cosy loft-style dining space that has a sunroof.

Offee is a new addition to the lively cafe scene on Jalan Dhoby. Cafe-goers who are looking for a place to unwind over speciality coffee in an Insta-worthy atmosphere can add this spot to their list of eateries to check out on the weekends.

Seating is ample on the ground floor. Snag a seat at the coffee bar to see how the cafe’s baristas whip up a range of coffee drinks up close, or at steel dining tables complimented by eclectic chairs. The latter is recommended for diners who are spending a laidback afternoon here, as the seats are more comfortable compared to the stools.Â

Else, you can dine on the second floor to bask in the sun pouring through a glass sunroof, or at the front of the cafe where tables and chairs are set out for patrons.

Aesthetic interior aside, Offee serves the usual coffee shop fare – speciality coffee drinks, flaky pastries, and drool-worthy cakes. They have a decent selection of drinks for caffeine addicts, including their Coconut Coffee (RM14) with fruity and tropical notes, and Dirty Matcha / Hojicha Latte (RM16) which seamlessly blends coffee and green tea.

If you’re opting for a caffeine-free drink, the Watermelon Strawberry Lemon (RM14) or Apple Cucumber Lime (RM13)Â will quench your thirst on a hot and sunny day. Else, they have a selection of fizzy Kombucha (RM15) crafted by a local brand called Muunchew.

If it’s not a trip to a cafe without having pastries and cakes to pair with your drinks, the cafe has a selection of fresh bakes such as their flaky and buttery Pain Au Chocolate (RM9.50) and Berries Tiramisu (RM19), a fruity twist on tiramisu cake that’s drizzled with a berry concoction jam and topped with strawberries, blueberries, and edible flowers.
