Playgrounds in cinemas aren’t exactly a new concept in Malaysia. In fact, many movie theatres in the country have in-hall playgrounds that cater to parents who worry about their kiddos getting restless mid-film.

GSC’s kid-friendly cinema halls, called GSC PlayPlus, is one of them. These halls are located throughout the country – but the biggest one yet just opened at IOI City Mall 2, and is part of Play Park, which features several other family-friendly facilities.

These halls are a dream come true for parents. They are spacious, with playing zones to be found alongside the walls so the kiddos can crawl about freely. There’s even a long tube slide that’ll shoot you into a ball pit – this will definitely be a favourite among the little ones.

While lights are usually dimmed throughout the movie, the lights in PlayPlus halls will only be dimmed slightly to prevent injuries if kids were to play in the dark.

The seats in these halls aren’t the usual bland ones either. There are rows of colourful plush chairs that are roomy and cushy, so you’ll be able to snuggle comfortably as a family while enjoying movies on the big screen.

Tickets for these halls are priced from RM10/child and RM25.50/adult.

The fun isn’t just limited within the walls of the cinema halls. While waiting for the movie to start, families can drop by a lounge area at this new GSC outlet, where you’ll find a large play area with slides and ball pits.

Watch the little ones squeal as they zoom down the slides into a large ball pool, or whizz through an extraordinarily long tube slide that hovers over the cinema foyer.
