Woman Feeding Stray Dogs During Sundown Catches Attention Of Police, Who Stick Around To Accompany Her

Woman accompanied by police while feeding stray dogs

Malaysians have big hearts for their furry friends, with love for them extending well beyond their furkids snuggled up at home – as shown by caring individuals who take time out of their days to feed stray animals even during the pandemic.

A Malaysian woman, who often shares photos and videos of her trips to feed stray animals on her Facebook account, is one of these caring individuals looking out for animals that have to fend for themselves on the streets. One of her excursions to feed stray dogs, which saw a policeman sticking around to accompany her while she did so, has been winning over the internet in particular.

Care for stray dogs brings around police protection

Facebook user, Pinkkitty Tuminah Tukiman Nazirah, took to her Facebook page on 25th March 2021 to share her story of the surprise police protection that she got while out feeding animals. According to the post, she had been feeding stray dogs when she saw a police officer’s car drive past, before it made a U-turn to stop just a few feet away from where she was.

When the police officer asked what she was doing, she simply responded that she was feeding stray dogs and that it won’t be long before her task was finished.

To this, the police officer called her actions “brave” as he, himself, was afraid of dogs, even going to say that it was the first time he was seeing something like this – presumably referencing her feeding stray animals even though the skies were pitch black.

Instead of returning to his car and moving on with his duties, she also shared that the police officer stuck around and accompanied her while she finished feeding the dogs – even though he admitted that he was not particularly fond of dogs.

As her post was reshared by many netizens, she posted a follow-up Facebook post 2 days later to thank everyone who had read her story, and asked for them to share her story to raise awareness about taking care of stray animals.

With it, she also shared a video that showed a conversation between her and the police officer, in which she can also be heard “telling” the stray dogs – which she affectionately refers to as children – that a “pakcik” would be accompanying them, in order to ease their hesitations about the police officer and vice versa.
