Black Tap to open first outlet in Malaysia in 2022
Malaysians are spoilt for choice when it comes to hunting out good food. But as much as we love our local cuisine, we also enjoy trying out burgers and fried chicken from new fast food chains that have made its way to our shores – we don’t mind queuing up for them either.Â
It’s more good news for foodies, as yet another popular restaurant from abroad is making its debut in Malaysia – Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, or Black Tap for short. This burger joint from New York City that serves over-the-top shakes and famed burgers is set to open its first outlet at Sunway Resort by the end of 2022.

Those who appreciate substantial burgers paired with milkshakes might have heard of Black Tap. They are well-known in New York and beyond for their large cheesy burgers, and milkshakes that come with outrageous toppings – think a slice of cake and whole cookies to crown your shakes.Â

Besides their food, the restaurant will also bring an all-American dining experience from the hip streets of New York to their Malaysia outlet via street art murals and retro music blasted on speakers.

First outlet to open at Sunway Resort
Malaysians can expect to add Black Tap to their list of restaurants to check out at Sunway Resort by the end of 2022, as it is set to join the list of signature restaurants located there – including the upcoming Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill.
This is all thanks to the New York City restaurant’s partnership with Sunway Resort at Sunway City Kuala Lumpur.

However, there has yet to be an exact opening date announcement of Black Tap’s first Malaysia outlet.

Though exact details of their menu and price points for their Malaysia outlet are not yet available either, we expect classics to show up on their menu and some similarities to their outlet in Singapore.

Crowd-pleasers such as The Greg Norman – with Wagyu beef patty, creamy buttermilk-dill sauce, and blue cheese – and The Texan Burger, another massive burger with beef patty, crispy bacon, and aged cheddar, are some of their popular burger orders.
As for their CrazyShake milkshakes, various gravity-defying options include the Cookie Shake, Cake Shake and Cotton Candy – all of which come with sweet toppings that are as Instagram-worthy as they are mouthwatering.

In Singapore, the burgers and milkshakes are priced slightly above $20 (between RM60 to RM80) considering the serving portion, service and ambience of the dining environment. Prices in Malaysia are likely to also be on the pricier end, given the quality of their food ingredients.
Black Tap to open first outlet in Malaysia
Four years ago, Black Tap expanded beyond the US with its first Singapore outlet at Marina Bay Sands. They also have restaurants located in Bahrain, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates.
They will soon welcome Malaysians from all walks of life to enjoy their signature meaty burgers, huge milkshakes and more at their upcoming outlet in Malaysia at Sunway Resort – which will likely become the next must-visit restaurant for foodies to check out.
