Jollibee opens new outlet in West Malaysia

If you’ve been on social media the last couple of days, you’ve likely seen photos of Jollibee on your feed. The Filipino fast-food restaurant just opened a new West Malaysia outlet on 8th February 2022, with snaking lines on its opening day showing just how much we love fried chicken.

We headed down to the new Jollibee outlet in Malaysia located at Sunway Pyramid to try their best-selling menu items, so you know what to expect before you drop by.

Here’s what we tried.

Filipino fried chicken & Jolly Spaghetti

A fun fact about Jollibee is that the Filipino homegrown fast-food chain started out as an ice cream parlour by Tony Tan-Caktiong in 1975. It now has over 1,000 outlets worldwide, including the UK, the US, and Southeast Asia. We have two outlets in our country – this includes a new one at Sunway Pyramid in Petaling Jaya, which we recently visited.

We tried Jollibee’s comfort food offerings that are well-known among many around the world – Chickenjoy. This signature bone-in fried chicken is available in two flavours: original and spicy.

Their 1pc Chickenjoy meal (RM10.50) includes rice, regular coleslaw, and a drink. Instead of rice, their 2pc Chickenjoy meal (RM15.49) and 3pc Chickenjoy meal (RM19.60) is served with mashed potatoes and a fluffy bun.

Those heading here with their friends and family can opt for their Chickenjoy Bundles instead. This is available in three options – 5pc Bucket (RM25.99/ala carte), 9pc Bucket (RM45.30/ala carte) and 12pc Bucket (RM59.90/ala carte) – to cater to small and big groups.

You can also get these as a set, with sides such as mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw and drinks.

Jollibee Sunway Pyramid outlet - spaghetti

Besides their crowd-favourite fried chicken, Jollibee is known for its signature Sweet-Style Jolly Spaghetti (RM6.50) with chunky beef hotdog slices, ground beef, and melted cheese on top.

We recommend trying their Chickenjoy with Jolly Spaghetti Meal (RM13.99) to try out their popular orders all in one go. The meal comes with a piece of chicken, regular-sized drink, and spaghetti with flavourful tomato sauce that complements the savouriness of their crispy and juicy fried chicken.

Jollibee Sunway Pyramid outlet - Yumburger

Other items to order here is their beef burger topped with a special dressing, the Yumburger (RM8.50), and their Burger Steak (from RM8.99) – a burger patty topped with their signature mushroom gravy and a side of rice.

We suggest completing your meal with their signature Pineapple Juice (RM4.90), a refreshing, sweet and tangy option besides the usual fizzy sodas typically found at fast-food restaurants.
