Matta Fair 2026
It’s time to take that trip out of the group chat. MATTA Fair, the massive travel fair synonymous with worth-it vacation and staycation deals exclusive to the event, returns this weekend.
Here’s all you need to know about visiting the travel showcase:
When & where is Matta Fair?
The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair hosts its second fair for 2026, for three days only, from 4th to 6th September. It’s back at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), in Kuala Lumpur’s Jalan Duta, with opening hours of 10am to 9pm.

MATTA Fair has already held 58 huge fairs in Malaysia. Its 59th edition, held in September 2026, is somehow bigger than previous ones. Over 2,000 booths from 306 companies covering licensed travel agencies, official tourism boards, and trusted global airlines gather at MITEC, across its 10 exhibition halls.
This year’s fair opens up even more travel destination possibilities, particularly in Central Asian countries, with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan’s Almaty offering new spots that visitors can plan trips to at the fair with the help of friendly booth staff. Of course, there are plenty of travel options to popular spots like South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, and China to lock down too.
The domestic tourism options also expand this year, with more representation from local attractions.

As for deals, there are plenty.
Look out for Malaysia Airlines’ MAG Arena, where holidaymakers can get a teaser of a trip abroad with the airline, including cultural performances and a recreation of business- and economy-class seats. With the recent announcement that Malaysia Airlines will resume non-stop flights to Busan on 2nd December after a 28-year absence, a special experience zone for Korea’s second-largest city is featured at the arena.
In case you’re curious, the Busan flights operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with introductory return fares starting from RM2,139.

Staff will also be on hand at the arena to help you work out a travel package, with up to 30% off on flights booked with Malaysia Airlines at MATTA Fair, for travel periods of 15th February to 3rd March 2027, and 1st May to 31st August 2027.
How to get to Matta Fair?
With over 180,000 visitors expected at the fair, expect a crowd.
If you’re coming by vehicle, park at the MITEC building itself, or at the nearby The MET Corporate Towers, MET Galleria, and Hyatt Regency, where there are more parking bays.

Or skip the road traffic altogether by utilising Rapid KL’s free shuttle bus service on all three days of the fair. Buses will pick up passengers from KL Sentral and ERL KLIA Departure Hall, and drop them off directly at the south entrance of MITEC, where clear signs for the buses and their pick-up points are placed.
This service runs from 8am to 10pm, with a frequency of 5-10 minutes.
There’s also a free bus shuttle service from KL’s Sunway Putra Mall, at its Main Entrance on the Ground Floor, to MITEC. This bus also runs from 8am to 10pm.
Book that trip at Matta Fair
With just a few months left in 2026, it’s a good time to start planning much-needed trips for next year. While flights are just a click away online, there will be plenty of exclusive deals to snag at MATTA Fair.
