South Korean Band Silica Gel To Perform For The First Time In Malaysia On 11th October

Silica Gel is coming to Malaysia this October

This isn’t the kind of silica gel you’d find tucked inside your snacks. It’s South Korean indie rock band Silica Gel, which is set to bring their music to Malaysia for the first time on 11th October 2026, as part of their Syn.THE.Size: Ballad of You Asia tour.

Originally formed in 2013 by eight university students from the Seoul Institute of the Arts, the band has since evolved into a tight-knit four-piece, consisting of lead vocalist and pianist Kim Han-joo, guitarist and vocalist Kim Min-su, drummer Kim Geon-jay, and bassist Choi Woong-hee.

Over the years, Silica Gel has built a strong international presence, performing at music festivals in Japan, Singapore, and Australia, and even sharing the stage with Japanese singer-songwriter Tatsuya Kitani as his opening act.

Their discography spans two studio albums and three extended plays, with their latest single, SGTAPE – 03, released just this year.
