Putrajaya may be the federal administrative capital of Malaysia, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have its share of nature gems.

If you’re looking for a place to soak up nature, head to Taman Saujana Hijau. This 41-hectare park has scenic flower fields to snap photos with, and open lawns to have a picnic at while enjoying a view of pine trees and blooms.

Taman Saujana Hijau is a sprawling park located at Precinct 11 in Putrajaya. While the scenery here will remind you of those floral hills at attractions in Cameron Highlands, entry to the park is free.

It’ll likely take you around an hour to fully explore the whole area, which has an European feel to it with the scatterings of pine trees, forested trails, and English garden flowers.

Over at the European Garden, located on the highest point of the three hills, you’ll be treated to scenic views of nature and a glimpse of buildings in Putrajaya. It’s recommended to come to this area early in the morning to catch the sun rising, or late in the evening for a sunset view, as you can enjoy unblocked views of open skies from here.

Do remember to bring along sunscreen or a hat to protect yourself from the sun too, as the lookout point and open fields aren’t shaded by trees.

Another highlight at this zone is a charming European-style pavilion, which stands alongside an open lawn. With foliage and flowers dangling from its roof, the pavilion provides for an Insta-worthy backdrop. Not far from here is the Oriental Garden, which features tropical plants and a pagoda fitted with benches that you can rest your legs at.
