Chinese New Year is fast approaching, and with it comes the anticipation of tossing delicious yee sang. If you’re excited to bring in good luck and fortune, here are 11 restaurants in Klang Valley where you can lou sang this New Year for extra huat.

This list will help you find the ideal platter for a fun and memorable toss, whether you’re a fan of the traditional combination or prefer something with a more modern spin on flavours.


1. Salad Atelier – affordable plant-based yee sang

When it comes to health-conscious meals, many of us in the Klang Valley turn to Salad Atelier for their hearty salad bowls. It’s no surprise that they have a plant-based Prosperity Yee Sang that’s available as a personal meal (RM28.88), or for 3-4 pax (RM68.88) and 6-8 pax (RM86.66).

 

 

 

as they have a personal-sized Salmon Huat Yee Sang (RM38.88) set that comes with classic yee sang ingredients such as purple cabbage, pomelos, and smoked salmon. 2. Awesome Canteen Cafe – single-portion yee sang

If you’re far from home and celebrating CNY alone, we’ve got you covered. Awesome Canteen offers a delicious single-portion yee sang (RM33) for a solo toss – or if you’re a small eater – this Chinese New Year. Consisting of local delights such as sengkuang, cabbage, radish, and cucumber, this platter also includes ingredients such as chuka kurage, chuka wakame, green apple slices, and pomegranates.

The star of this platter is the sushi gari-sashimi, a pickled ginger sushi that offers a sweet and spicy vinegar flavour.

3. The Fat Fish – snow pear yee sang

The Fat Fish welcomes back it’s popular yee sang, which comes in three sizes – small (RM55 for 1-3pax), medium (RM98 for 4-6pax), and big (RM138 for 6-10pax), so you don’t have to worry about leftovers or not having enough to go around.

Each set consists of chuka wakame, chuka kurage, cucumber, lotus root, pickled radish, pickled ginger, and deep-fried wonton skin, and is topped with plum sauce, sesame seeds, and peanuts.

For something extra on your platter, they offer add-on ingredients such as snow pear (RM10 per piece) for a sweet crunch or mini Chilean abalone (RM8 per piece) for an added texture in every bite.

Meat lovers will want to consider Ante Restaurant’s Jamon Iberico lou sang (RM98++), which feeds around 4-6pax. This yee sang offers unique ingredients such as Jamon Iberico which has a sweet note, and dragonfruit for an additional fruity finish.

For an extra dash of vibrancy and seafood in your yee sang platter, try the Rainbow Lou Sang (RM248 for 5-8pax) from Papasan Canteen. It consists of 15 different ingredients, including seafood such as sashimi, baby octopus, jellyfish, and tobiko fish roe. 6. Tooyumm – Japanese-inspired yee sang

Too Yumm offers a unique twist of Japanese flavours in its Prosperity Abundance Premium Seafood Yee Sang (RM148 for 2-4pax). It consists of ingredients such as Japanese octopus, jellyfish slices, marinated hotate slices, Japanese ikura, and tobiko.
