M’sian Couple Living In The US Shows Off Their Yoga With Goats Photos; Netizens Kid About The Unusual Sight

M’sian couple shows off impressive yoga with goats photos

With gyms closed during the Movement Control Order, Malaysians have taken to substituting our usual workout seshs with free online classes and barbells with random household items. But to add live goats – yes, the animal – to the mix when doing yoga is a move that’s leaving many Malaysians confused.

This was what happened when a Malaysian couple living in the US shared their “yoga with goats” experience online. Photos showing the couple engaging in a fun yoga session outdoors – but with an added live goat standing on their backs – had Malaysian netizens in a stir, with many calling it a unique date idea and others kidding over the whole thing.

Not your regular yoga class

The photos were shared online by Iqbal at his Twitter handle @Iqtodabal on 4th October 2020. As he has over 15,000 followers amassed on his account, the post quickly caught the attention of many because the pictures were really pretty unique.

While most of us struggle to get basic yoga poses right at our usual yoga classes, Iqbal and his wife, Syazana, pulled off an advanced acroyoga – a type of yoga practice that has elements of acrobatics – pose effortlessly. And with a baby goat – also known as a kid – balancing on top of the 2 of them.

The involvement of these little creatures even make classic yoga poses, such as the standard tree pose – seem fun. Opting for another impressive couple’s yoga pose with Iqbal perched on Syazana’s folded legs, cuddling the goat, the entire series of photos just screams quirky yoga sesh

The couple is no stranger to adventurous feats. They are both Malaysians living in Texas for Syazana’s work, and often share their travel and food adventures on their YouTube channel and on Iqbal’s social media accounts. This yoga with goats is just another addition to the long list of quirky things the couple does.

Many netizens even pointed out that their “yoga with goats” session took place a location out of a popular scene in a Netflix documentary series called Indian Matchmaking

Yoga with goats is not a new concept

While the unique yoga session may seem unusual to some, you’ll be surprised to find out that yoga with goats was a fad that took off back in 2017.

According to a report from CNN, it was especially popular in the US then as it combined nature, animals and yoga for a therapeutic workout session set usually in farms. What typically happens at these unique yoga sessions are that there are free-rein young goats that yogis get to interact with while pulling off yoga poses.

Netizens kid around with the unique concept

Despite the fact that the concept wasn’t exactly new, it didn’t stop friendly jokes from flooding Iqbal’s Twitter post. Many Twitter users came out to pun the inclusion of young goats, or kids, to the workout routine.

This included netizen @sueannajoe_, who tweeted a tongue-in-cheek response: “Well, I do this with my kid too” – presumably to reference her human kid.
