RC Raceway indoor radio-controlled car racing
If you’re a motorsport fan, you’ve likely wondered what it’s like to get behind the wheels of a track car after only having spectated from the bleachers. But while the experience of racing is exhilarating, it isn’t a cheap activity – or a particularly safe or easy one.
RC cars, short for radio-controlled cars, is the fix you need. Think video games but with the extra thrill of racing miniature cars to your heart’s content on an actual race track. If this is up your alley, check out RC Raceway at X-Park Sunway Serene which lets you fulfill your car-racing dreams.
It happens to be the first indoor RC carpet track in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, and opens till midnight on the weekends for some late-night fun with your friends.
Fully air-conditioned & carpeted RC car track
Gone are the days when you had to endure the scorching sun to partake in a race. Located at X-Park Sunway Serene, RC Raceway has an indoor carpet track for RC cars. The facility is fully air-conditioned and sheltered from the unpredictable Malaysian climate, serving as an ideal racing spot come rain or shine.
Rent a RC car to try racing in miniature style here – a 20-minute race costs RM50/pax for adults and RM25/pax for children under 12. If you bring your own RC car, you can enjoy discounted rates. A full day on the tracks for adults is priced RM35/pax, and a 4-hour race is priced RM20/pax for children under 12.
RC car enthusiasts can opt for the monthly membership (RM300/pax) with unlimited entries.
The track sits on an area measuring an impressive 110ft by 75ft – which meets the International Race Track standards. So, there’ll be more than enough space for hobbyists to gather and race it out.
A highlight of the carpet track is that it includes numerous off-road obstacles, including steep ramps with tricky descents and winding turns. These features make for a gripping race, and will put the skills of amateur to professional racers to test.
There’s also a separate miniature track for beginners and kids as well.
While waiting for your turn on the tracks, there’s a driver’s stand that gives racers a prime view of the ongoing race, as well as pit tables with gadget charging facilities.
A hobby shop to assemble RC cars
If your hobby goes beyond just racing miniature motors on tracks, you’ll be delighted to know that RC Raceway is also the first indoor RC car track with a track-side hobby shop.
Here, you can get a hands-on experience assembling RC cars and learning about the controllers. Get to know more about the various elements and systems of RC motors, and learn to adjust car and radio settings that’ll be helpful when you take your miniature car out to the tracks.
For such a hobby that requires a decent understanding of the mechanics of these motors, it’s also a great place to learn from professionals and other enthusiasts.
Apart from racing events, RC Raceway also hosts various programs for children, product launches, birthday parties, and team building events.
