China-Malaysia Friendship Garden
Klang Valley has a number of scenic gardens that offer Malaysians a space to chill in nature. Over in Putrajaya, there happens to be an especially photogenic one called China-Malaysia Friendship Garden. Featuring a pavilion that overlooks a pond and a majestic moon gate that makes for a perfect photo backdrop, this garden will make you feel as if you’ve stepped onto the set of a Chinese period drama.

Hiding out in Anjung Floria, a public park in Precinct 4, Putrajaya, is China-Malaysia Friendship Garden.
This 0.6-acre friendship garden was established in 2015 to commemorate Malaysia’s diplomatic ties with China. The result is a serene space inspired by Lingnan gardens, a popular garden design that incorporates elements such as water, stones, and traditional structures.

Among the collection of charming structures at this garden that’ll be a delight for architecture lovers and shutterbugs is a majestic moon gate, which looks like a portal to another world.

At the entrance to the garden is a pair of 200-year-old Qilin statues transported all the way from China. These are mythical creatures traditionally depicted as lion-like beasts. They stand guard next to the traditional Chinese archway entrance, another prominent structure here with its dramatic sloped roof and hanging red lanterns.

A charming pavilion and serene garden area

Step past the entrance and be greeted by a charming Chinese-style pavilion that overlooks a lake. Flanked by weeping willows, the structure is a popular photo spot among visitors and is reminiscent of traditional gardens in China – think the Keyuan Garden in Guangdong, China.

Besides the structures, there’s a garden area with well-trimmed bushes and trees, as well as benches so you can sit and admire the Chinese-style landscaping.
A serene Chinese-style garden to visit in Putrajaya
Whether you’re looking for another garden to visit or a photo spot for your next OOTD, you’ll find several photogenic zones at scenic China-Malaysia Friendship Garden in Putrajaya. Though it only occupies a small section of Anjung Floria, it’s worth a visit for its legit Chinese garden elements.
