‘Harry Potter’ movie marathon at GSC
With first looks dropping left and right for the upcoming Harry Potter series by HBO, the franchise has been trending on social media once again. But then there’s the camp of us Potterheads who are just happy to rewatch the films to relive the magical world of Hogwarts.
Here for us Potterheads, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) just announced that they’ll be holding a 24-hour Harry Potter movie marathon for fans. The special fan-screening event will be held on 28th August 2026, at Aurum Theatre in KL’s The Exchange TRX.
The return of a classic children’s fantasy epic
The Harry Potter series began as a beloved children’s fantasy book series by J. K. Rowling. First published in 1997, the book series has become a cult-favourite adored by the young and the old for its spectacular wizarding world. The series gained even more popularity after the release of its first film in 2001 – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – which stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.

While it has been a good 14 years since the last Harry Potter film was released in cinemas, the magic of the film and story has been kept alive by Potterheads – and also events like this upcoming 24-hour movie marathon hosted by GSC, which is bringing back all eight Harry Potter movies to the big screen.
Team Voldemort or Team Hogwarts?
Instead of just purchasing a movie ticket and plopping down on a plush seat in a cinema hall, GSC has prepped a complete experience for hard-core Potterheads – all in the form of two bundled ticket packages, which come with meals and snacks so your tummy is sorted during the 24-hour movie marathon.
The first bundle, The Knight Buss Bundle, is priced at RM299. It includes a ticket to watch all eight films in the series; three meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; a printed merchandise and marathon certificate; an exclusive Harry Potter tumbler; and unlimited popcorn, drinks, and snacks.
While slightly pricier, at RM988, the Hogwarts Express Bundle includes similar items as in Team Voldemort’s Bundle, with an added blanket, eye mask, and body wash from Gethá so you can snuggle up in comfort during a movie screening.

You can buy the promotional tickets via the GSC app or on their website. Do note that the promotional tickets are for a limited time only, and on a while-stocks-last basis, so you’ll want to be quick to decide on securing a ticket.
A 24-hour screening of eight ‘Harry Potter’ films
Taking on a 24-hour movie marathon requires energy and some prepping – even if it’s from an adored series. Luckily, GSC has released the screening times on their website, so you can decide to take on all eight movies to get your money’s worth or just show up for the movies that you can’t help but rewatch time after time.
