It’s not difficult to find Korean products at supermarkets in Malaysia now with the growing interest in Korean food culture. With popular South Korean convenience stores like CU and emart24 popping up in our neighbourhoods, we’re pretty much spoiled for choice.

1. Han’s Mart

Alongside the slew of Korean restaurants tucked away in Sri Hartamas, there’s Han’s Mart. It’s not huge when compared to the other spots on this list, but it makes good use of its space with well-stocked shelves packed with all sorts of imported Korean goods.

In the cold section, find staple Korean produce and items such as kimchi, pickled vegetables, and rice, along with convenient ready-to-eat side dishes, known as banchan. Next to this is the freezer zone, with handy meal kits that let you whip up a soup-based dish in no time, and all the ingredients you’d need to make Korean meals such as tteokbokki and gimbap.
As no trip to a Korean mart is complete without a snack or two in your basket, there are shelves just for instant noodles, seaweed, and childhood-favourite snacks like Kancho.

2. K Plus Food Market

The grocery shop looks like any local supermarket when you first set foot inside, with common produce and pantry staples on shelves. But towards the back of the store is the ‘K Plus’ section, an area in the huge store where all the Korean food items get mixed with the usual supermarket finds – you can do all your regular shopping and Korean food haul here.

What most shoppers gravitate to in the grocery shop is the banchan area, as they have a good selection of them, including rarer finds like marinated crabs. They’ll pair nicely with ready-to-eat gimbap and fried chicken that can be bought at a hot foods section.
3. Shin Sun Mi Korean Market

Before Korean convenience stores first popped up in Malaysia, Shin Sun Mi Korean Market was well-known among shoppers and foodies alike as a grocery store with a hot food section serving beloved Korean street foods tteokbokki, gimbap, and eomuk. There are even tables outside their mart to feast on your newly purchased snacks and hot foods.
Find this grocery store at Sunway Geo Avenue in Subang Jaya, with a space carrying a wide variety of imported Korean products, including Ottogi meal kits that require little cooking time and kitchenware.

4. KO Mart

KO Mart began serving customers in January 2021 at 1 Mont Kiara shopping centre. They’re well-stocked with staples to cook up an authentic Korean spread, including fresh produce, frozen food, and housewares such as pots and barbecue grills.

One of the highlights of this Korean grocery store is Daebak Meat. They’re a meat shop within KO Mart that sells a variety of meat cuts to suit all your barbecue and stew needs. Find pork back rib, back bone, tenderloin, and more for various cooking styles and dishes.

For first-timers to the meat shop, there are helpful charts placed at the counter that have recommended meat cuts for various dishes to help guide shoppers. Or reach out to the friendly butcher behind the counter for recommendations. You can also have your meats sliced to order for specific dishes you have in mind.
5. Kim’s Mart

Kim’s Mart is a Korean grocery store in Mont Kiara frequented by locals and Koreans alike in the Klang Valley. It’s located at Jalan Solaris, considered the “Korea town” of KL due to the presence of Korean hair salons and restaurants here.

The mart has all the Korean staples you would need to cook a Korean meal, with a highlight here being a special discounted shelf by the entrance that has imported Korean products with up to 50% off. Do note that items on sale typically have near-expiry dates clearly marked on the price tags, but it won’t be much of an issue if you’re consuming the items soon.
Another perk here is the designated parking bays for customers, which will be a welcome convenience with how busy the area gets.
6. NH Pasarnita Mart

Not far from Kim’s Mart is NH Pasarnita Mart, also located in Mont Kiara. The huge supermarket carries packs of imported rice from Nonghyup, a Korean manufacturer, as the grocery store happens to be a joint venture between Nonghyup and Pasarnita.
This includes varieties of short-grain rice from the Seocheon area in South Korea, which pairs well with Korean stews and barbecued meats due to its sticky texture when cooked. The rice is also Jakim halal-certified and sold in 2kg, 4kg and 10kg packs.

Aside from their extensive range of rice and imported products, spanning everything from fresh produce to dry condiments, they have a variety of household products and toiletries from Korea.
Here you can find detergents, shampoos, household gloves, cooking pans, bowls, plates and face masks – just to name a few.
7. Galaxy Korean Mart

Those looking to stock up on groceries and save an extra trip to the grocery store can consider dropping by Galaxy Korean Mart. This Korean mart at the old-school Galaxy Ampang Mall has staple Korean cooking ingredients sold by the bulk, wholesale-style.

Find bulk-sized kimchi, gochujang, tuna, and instant rice among their aisles of snacks, instant noodles, condiments, and more. The frozen section takes up a big part of this mart, with frozen seafood, fishcakes, dumplings, and more.

Freshan Grocer

Freshan Grocer is a speciality Korean grocery store focusing on “fresh and premium” imported Korean products. They opened their doors in Sri Hartamas in 2019, and have since expanded to a new location in Desa Park City at The Waterfront.
There are different sections for fresh produce, meat, frozen foods, snacks, ramen, beverages, ice cream, dry condiments, and staples such as kimchi, banchan, and laver, at both locations. Among their frozen foods are premium seafoods including crab and lobster. Keep an eye out for their seasonal fresh fruits, such as strawberries, pears, muscats and oranges imported from Korea.
K Market

Mention Korean grocery stores and K Market will most likely come to mind. This established grocery store has two locations in Klang Valley – Mont Kiara in KL and Puchong in Selangor – and two more branches in Penang and Johor. All their branches carry similar imported Korean goods, including fresh produce, kimchi, frozen foods, snacks, condiments and more from popular food brands such as Jongga and Nongshim. There are also shelves to browse Korean beauty products, household items and cookware.
Once you feel peckish after shopping for groceries, a food stall inside their Puchong branch serves bibimbaps and gimbaps. Gorge on these at a spacious seating area located next to the cashier, and pair them with chilled Korean beverages you can purchase from a nearby chiller.

Korean Grocer by Jaya Grocer opened in March 2021 at 1 Utama Shopping Mall. They’ve quickly become popular among patrons due to their wide range of Korean-made products, including everything from chips and ramen to face masks and shampoos.
There are also selected fresh produce, frozen foods, and housewares common in Korean households to browse through. The grocer also offers regular discounts and buy-1-free-1 deals. Just keep an eye out for orange tags on the shelf that reflect these bargains.
Getting to Korean Grocer is convenient for those swinging by on the MRT. Simply alight at Bandar Utama MRT Station, and it’ll be a less-than-five-minute walk here. If you’re coming by vehicle, consider parking at 1 Utama E to save you on walking time from other zones in the mall.
Seoul Mart 서울마트

Seoul Mart has been around for over a decade and is popularly known as a cosy mom-and-pop grocery store where you can pick up Korean food items and more.
Located just below a Korean barbecue, this grocery store is well-stocked with imported items such as ramen, meat, fresh produce, household goods, banchan, and alcoholic beverages.
One of the charms of this Korean grocery store is their diverse stash of instant noodles. They sell over 15 varieties in loose single packs as they usually do at Korean convenience stores. This way, you’ll get to pick out several flavours to try and find out a new favourite instant noodle flavour.
Find everything from classic instant noodles of Samyang and Shin ramen, to Jin, Neoguri and Jjapaghetti ramen.
