The Malaysia Coffee Week 2026 lands here at Gurney Paragon Mall with a full lineup of coffee tastings, cupping sessions, and workshops, alongside the electrifying Malaysia National Coffee Championship preliminaries.

Follow the aroma of freshly-brewed coffee in Penang this weekend, and you’ll find yourself in a coffee haven, smack dab in the Atrium of Gurnay Paragon Mall.

The festival is none other than the Malaysia Coffee Week 2026: Northern Edition, back with its 5th edition with George Town playing host to the event this year.

Running daily from 10am to 10pm, the event blends coffee, culture, and community into one buzzing space, where seasoned aficionados and casual sippers can mingle and test out a wide range of flavour profiles, with exclusive promotions that make it all the more tempting to linger.

With over 50 exhibitors on site, the event welcomes a diverse lineup of leading coffee brands, local roasters, and equipment suppliers from Malaysia, with notable participants showcasing what they do best, such as:

From now till 26th April, the programme lineup keeps things lively across all four days, with hands-on workshops and activities for the public to take part in, including cupping sessions, a Coffee Sharing Session by the Penang Specialty Coffee Society, as well as an AeroPress Brewing Workshop at 11am led by Malaysia AeroPress Champion 2024, Samuel Lian.

Battle of the baristas in full swing


The week runs alongside the Malaysia National Coffee Championship 2026 Preliminary Rounds, taking place on Level 2 of the St. Jo’s building, the heritage structure right behind the Atrium.

Preliminary rounds feature the Malaysia Barista Championship, where top baristas step behind the machine to present a series of meticulously crafted espresso-based drinks, as well as the Malaysia Brewers Cup, where manual brewing takes the spotlight this time, with participants showcasing their knowledge of brewing methods and thoughtful presentations.

There’s also the Malaysia Cup Tasters Championship that tests competitors on their sensory perception, by distinguishing tastes and fragrance of various cups of specialty coffees.

Semi-finalists for Malaysia Barista Championship will be revealed on 24th April, while the Malaysia Brewers Cup and Cup Tasters Championship semi-finalists will be announced on the last day of the festival.
