Man on crutches helps clear trash during KL flood
Malaysians are good-hearted people who always make it a point to praise the acts of fellow citizens, in hopes that this may help spread positive vibes and encourage us all to do things selflessly.
During the recent flash flood in KL, a one-legged man on crutches was hailed as a hero online by Malaysians for a reason. He was seen picking up trash that had been blocking water flow on an inundated road near a Caltex on Jalan Pudu.

On 8th March 2022, Facebook page 我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians shared a 27-second video of the man on crutches helping to pick up trash from a flooded road in KL. The original video was uploaded on TikTok by user @judedina_, who shared that the incident took place on Jalan Pudu.
In the short video, the man, who has his right leg partially amputated, was recorded balancing on his left leg and picking up trash in high flood waters. This included a large, soaked piece of cardboard, which appeared to be obstructing water flow on the road.

He was helping another able-bodied man clear the area, with a pile of various trash that looked like litter collected by the pair seen alongside the flooded road.
Malaysians call man on crutches ‘a hero’
Since its posting, the viral video has amassed over 78,000 views and more than 3,500 reactions on Facebook, at the time of writing. On TikTok, the video has garnered over 400,000 views.
Malaysians have been expressing a sheer sense of approval for the man’s thoughtfulness on both platforms.

Netizen CK Cheong echoed a similar remark – he said that he respected the man on crutches, while sharing some well wishes in his comment too.

Netizen Krissantha Santha, on the other hand, said “Hats off to him”, as his disability did not stop him from committing the kind act that he was lauded for.
Man on crutches helps pick up trash in flood
It takes just small thoughtful acts to make our surroundings a better place for everyone to live in. So we applaud this man for setting an example for all of us – despite his disability, he showed that social responsibility should be shared by everyone in our community.
