On 7th November 2021, netizen Azriq Haikal posted a 55-second video of him rescuing a stray cat on a road at Genting Highlands on the Facebook page Group Pencinta Kucing. In the now-viral video, Azriq can be seen walking towards a frail-looking orange cat with drenched fur that was left abandoned by the roadside.

The cat was stranded in the rain and had nowhere to go as vehicles can be seen passing on both sides of the road. When approached by Azriq, the cat could only meow softly at him, as it appeared too weak to walk.

Filled with pity by the sight, Azriq decided to stop his vehicle to rescue the cat at the busy road bend, putting his own safety at risk. He also suspected that it might have been hit by a vehicle.

Since its posting, the heartening video has garnered over 6,500 reactions, 1,100 comments, and over 300 shares. Azriq mentioned in the captions of his post that he is looking to treat the cat’s condition presumably by bringing it to a vet. He also tells people to pray for the furry friend’s well-being and hopes that it will regain strength soon.

He is currently trying his best to take care of the cat, but is reaching out to anyone who is willing to look after it as he is unable to support the cat due to financial constraints.
