Nintendo pop-up store in Malaysia
Most of us have a The Legend of Zelda or Super Mario era. Whether it’s ongoing or something from the past, you’ll be gushing all the same over the Nintendo pop-up store that’s now open in Malaysia for a limited time. Here’s everything to know about it:
When & where is the Nintendo pop-up store?
The Nintendo pop-up store runs from 12th September to 31st December 2026, at the newly opened Ombak KLCC on Level 3.
What to expect at the Nintendo pop-up store
There’s something about the declaration “first in Malaysia” that gets Malaysians excited. And this Nintendo pop-up is – cue the cheers – a first in Malaysia. Here, you can shop best-selling character merch brought in from Japan. In other words, merch that you won’t need a passport or plane ticket to get your hands on.
You’ll have close to 100 items to browse and buy from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, Kirby, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.
It’s not a complete Nintendo store without being able to purchase Nintendo Switch consoles and games. The pop-up also carries the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as the brand’s most-played games, with a Nintendo Switch 2 experience zone for fans to play and test the Switch 2.
Super Mario
It may not be a permanent store, but we’ll take what we can get.
Malaysia’s Nintendo pop-up store has a sizeable collection of Super Mario merch, including Malaysian-exclusive Super Mario T-shirts (RM91/each) in black and white that feature Mario, Luigi, and Toad, with two iconic Warp Pipes standing side-by-side to represent Malaysia’s Petronas Twin Towers.
Other merch to cop from the beloved franchise includes huggable pillows (RM116/each), a coin pouch (RM65) for your IRL coins, and character plushes (RM61-RM81).
Animal Crossing
Merch from the Animal Crossing franchise are just as plentiful as Super Mario.
Look forward to spending adult money on a range of practical items to add to your home and work desk, with items covering pens (RM24/each), a drawstring bag (RM58), a laptop pouch (RM118), and even an apron (RM127) and slippers (RM65).
Pikmin, Kirby, Splatoon & The Legend of Zelda
Beyond Super Mario and Animal Crossing, find other video game franchises represented. Get your hands on a plush of the lovable Kirby, and a variety of quirky merch from the Pikmin series. Look out for the Yellow, Blue, and Red Pikmin keychains (RM25/each) that’ll be too adorable to miss out on.
Nintendo’s popular shooter video game franchise Splatoon also has a section with items such as a Splatoon 3 Salmon Run bucket hat (RM189) and cap (RM207). More apparel options are available for The Legend of Zelda fans too, including graphic T-shirts.
Nintendo pop-up is now open in Malaysia till end-December
There’s plenty to get excited about if you’re a Nintendo fan in Malaysia. While merch from the brand isn’t exactly difficult to find at our local malls, the pop-ups will bring with them exclusive Japan- and Malaysia-exclusive merch that will be hard to resist.
