Puncak Alop in Ampang
It’s locally acknowledged that Bukit Ampang is the spot to head to when you’re looking to enjoy some of the best panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.
To accommodate the crowds that throng to the hill for the views, there’s Puncak ALOP. The new Ampang attraction is now welcoming visitors to marvel at all of KL’s iconic buildings from its lookout point, and munch on food from its cafe space, Puncak Hauz.

Shortened from Puncak Ampang Look Out Point, Puncak ALOP reopened in early 2026 as an ecotourism destination under the Visit Selangor and Visit Malaysia initiatives. The RM10-million redevelopment project aims to provide Bukit Ampang frequenters with an alternative and safer spot to view KL’s skyline, a popular activity in the area.
Currently, there’s an observation deck and cafe to visit, but the space is set to feature spaces for camping and caravans in the future.

If you regularly head to the previous lookout point at the base of Bukit Ampang, you’ll be spoiled with even better views of KL’s skyline from the aesthetically pleasing Puncak ALOP. There’s an open-air, industrial-style observation deck here that offers a dramatic panoramic views of the city’s skyline.

You’ll be able to spot all the iconic buildings of KL without binoculars: Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, Merdeka 118, and The Exchange 106. Come during the evenings to score stunning views of orange-hued skies hovering above these mammoth structures.

Puncak ALOP conveniently opens from 12pm to 9pm, so you can come for the sunset view and linger a little later to see KL’s skyscrapers glitter through the night.
A blend of local and western delights
While the views are the undeniable main character of this spot, the food from Puncak Hauz is not here to play either. Alongside the skyline and sunset drama, the cafe’s menu brings a thoughtful mix of local favourites and Western comfort dishes that make lingering feel almost compulsory.
While slightly pricier, dishes like the Lemang Bakar with Ayam Rendang (RM35), Spicy Crispy Chicken Chop (RM38), and Smoked Duck Al Pesto (RM38) are perfect to order for date nights or intentional friend meetups.
If you’re just coming to order a beverage with the views, the refillable tea selection has options like Tropika Passion (RM9) and Lychee Rose (RM9).
